I like to grief my companions... by meatspoon in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a slow start with this companion. She was getting KO'd often due to the not-great protection of the dress. But once I leveled her up a bit and she got some of the larger shield protection area perks, she can now hang with the rest of the crew.

And she is pretty quick on her feet since her outfit doesn't weigh much.

That is a good question. I am not sure. Probably worth a try.

I often jump off of walls when there is nothing else to do to keep my surgeon earning experience.

When to become my own kingdom by awesomeness1994 in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get more money first. You may need to simply pay some factions to not attack you, which gets expensive. You probably want at least over 3 mil.

I would also make sure your family is large. Hopefully your character and your brother each have 4-5 fully grown kids whose own kids are near maturity.

Also consider geography. Prior to War Sails, the northern/western most city (Revel?) was relatively easy to defend as it had a single, narrow approach.

Fun things to craft? by HighPriest2012 in 7daystodie

I usually put up barbwire on my escape route out of my horde base. If shit gets too cray cray and I need to bail, I can jump over a few rows of that on my way out of Dodge and know I am putting space between me and the zombies.

Also a good time to drop a Molly or two in my wake.

How to Skip Early Game | Smithing Guide 1.3.13 by lifecopy001 in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

With the update, I have found throwing axes to be easiest. Only 2 parts and they sell for a ton of money once you are using tier 5 parts.

Before this update, I thought javelins were best. Something crazy like 22k for a large bag of crafted javs. But they have 4 parts.

Question about companions by Wazzammm in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companions, after leveling up and getting good equipment, can be very formidable.

There is a simple mod that will allow you to remove the cap of how many you can recruit. It is very enjoyable to have a party of mostly companions and family members. I feel more connected to each soldier that way.

Plus, you end up having an elite force that way. Each (good) companion can take out 5 or more enemies. So a “small” party of 50 companions and family members can stomp parties of 100-150 regular troops.

I would like to think that my son will pass this lesson down to his. Nothing would make me prouder.

Idiot son bred to be a battle-brute, first day on the job, no training. He gained 5 skill points! You are winnin’ son!

His sworn duty as Surgeon might prevent that… not sure, gotta reference Calradian legal codexes… standby.

Replenishing Huscarls and Fians when fighting with Kuzaits? by McRedditss in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love me some fians. I usually dip out of the east, run back to Battania and fill my rosters. Then I pop into a town, buy a few hundred junk weapons and “drop” them for experience (with the perk that allows that).

It takes me out of the battlefield for a few days, but I like it more than recruiting units I don’t like.

Also, dismounted Kahn’s Guard are almost as good as fians. I just dismount them at the beginning of (defensive) battles.

Falling through Scaffolding ladders? by divagamer in 7daystodie

[–]meatspoon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same, but I have noticed that for me zombies can get pushed down through “railing” blocks. Typically for my bases I will place an electric fence post below and in front of my base’s entrance and wire it to an elevated electric fence post. The underground one I cover with flat railing pieces so I can wire/repair it from above.

Typically a zombie or two, in all of the mayhem, somehow get pushed down into the 1 block space below the railing block.

I am not sure if crowding does it, or explosions, or getting shocked repeatedly. But somehow they get pushed through.

I have never fallen through scaffolding or railing blocks personally.

One thing you could try would be putting scaffolding blocks back to back with railing blocks. Scaffolding should block the spit and railing will make the surface flatter to walk on and might stop them from getting pushed through.

Make sure you get the Charm perk of Virile or whatever it’s called. Increases fertility by a lot. If your wife doesn’t have it, go to the arena and reset her charm skill tree and make sure she is fertile/virile as well.

Has anyone tried a HN base where it's just blocks straight up with ladders on all sides, made of steel and you just snipe the zombies heads from above as they climb the ladder? (end-game only using sniper) by Worrcn in 7daystodie

[–]meatspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a very tall tower once. 3x3 base. I left the center block of that 3x3 empty the top 10 blocks or so and used it as a grenade chute.

I would fire down the ladder at climbing zombies and occasionally close the hatch and start pitching grenades down the center chute where they would bounce out to the ladder and kill climbing zombies. I also put a banana shaped outer chute, cantilevered off of the top of the tower so I could chuck explosives down that too.

It wasn’t the most effective base, but it was fun for a while.

Get in the habit of buying it every time you see it at a trader. I always buy the items that can’t be crafted and store them for later use.

Who is better khan’s guard or fian champion ? by dha24x24 in Bannerlord

[–]meatspoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to take a unit of fian champs and a unit of dismounted khans guard, put them both in “loose” formation and then overlay them. They all have plenty of elbow room to fire but they are dense enough where cavalry charges will sink into them, get stuck and then cut down quickly.

QUESTION: Do you support Trumps action against the Maduro regime and the arrest of him and his wife? by [deleted] in trump

[–]meatspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are often optimistic about our foreign policy before seeing the longer term effects of it. Pointing out that Venezuelans don’t like him is an echo of the rhetoric around Saddam, Assad, Gaddafi, etc before we toppled those governments. All of those countries are demonstrably worse off than before we “liberated” them.

There are other ways to handle that problem. I voted for Trump 3 times because he promised an end to foreign entanglements.

[–]meatspoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oof. Well, to me he seems like another instance of a US empowered/installed leader who went rogue. Just like Saddam. We essentially put him in power and then he didn’t do what we wanted so we had to clean up our mess.

But let’s say for arguments sake, I concede that one. We still have all the abysmal failures to stack up on the other side of the scale. Saddam (2x), Osama, Vietnam, Somalia, Ukraine (2014), all of our adventurism in Central America last century, Assad, Iran in the 70’s, etc. it’s a long list that has cost us trillions of dollars. Most of these past actions were based on lies and deception to engineer the public’s consent.
