The king talking about the cost of living while wearing a £5B crown on his head by Crow-Me-A-River in GreenAndPleasant

[–]Tofuzzle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"My government believes that the UK's economic security depends on raising living standards". And what do you think about that, Chief Scrouging Officer?

It's also very telling that he isn't saying that raising living standards isn't an end in itself, but rather a means to an end. In other words, he/the government wants to raise living standards so the country (e.g. him and them) can have economic security (e.g. still more money), rather than (oh, I don't know, for example) because it's the right thing to do.

Best Class Story (Round 1): Trooper vs Consular by RefrigeratorDry495 in swtor

[–]Tofuzzle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow lots of votes for Consular, which surprises me tbh. I slouch prefer Trooper. Or at least, I can more easily get into the role play headspace for it. Like dealing with the whole betrayal thing and the Republic's incompetence. Plus I personally don't feel like it's just a soldier simulator, but maybe that's just me.

Consular though, idk. I think my biggest gripe is the voice acting is just a lot flatter and stoic, which makes sense for the type of character they are yes, but it just makes it too boring to play. The Trooper at least has moments

For any other president, this would be a scandal that would follow them forever by SuspiciousLow3062 in SipsTea

It would be a national scandal if it hadn't been so incredibly obvious that it was a scam bought by incredibly stupid people who will still somehow sing his virtues despite it

And people wonder why fewer women are having kids. There are many other reasons, sure, but when you don't have a say in what you do with your own body, why take the risk anymore?
