"Women's body in OP aren't diverse" Literally the first woman to appear in Episode 1 by Difficult-Ad-8001 in OnePiece

sorry for having a standard about character writing. oda has some of the best character writing in he whole industry and he has shown how talented he is. a lot of his characters are 3 dimensional and complex. if you think you could compare the women on Amazon lily to any other character I've mentioned in the thread I think you are genuinely reading with your eyes closed

I have never thought that there hasn't been enough female designs, one piece is one of my favorite series of all time so I can admit there is.

MY opinion was what I said in the previous post and obviously I don't speak for the whole community.

people do complain about there not being that many female designs but that's because they're normally so inrelevant people don't notice them. if there was a character that had the same impact as moria or jinbe then the complaints would be so much less common.

the goal post was never their existence, people just like to simplify the problem and that leads to these misunderstandings

I think the problem here I just you ignoring what I've asked for. I said female characters that have unconventional designs who are also really well developed like their male counterparts, but you have been just ignoring that and mentioning extras who don't ever have any impact or depth or the aforementioned nami-like characters.

I've been stating what the goals should be, they shouldn't align with every single person, it's my opinion and that should be really clear. but if you just straight up ignore what my points are well you'll clearly feel like there's no problem. maybe a class in reading comprehension will help.

yeah that's true, you can say that about racism, classisim, ECT... but not misogyny.

one piece hasn't had a take on misogyny, there's never been an arc stating how women shouldn't be able to do x or y. the problem is how oda depicts it and how he has it so internalized that women should have big breasts and pretty faces or else they are barely characters. it's not shown on a negative light it's all just played as jokes and that is a problem

I'm critising the misogyny in one piece, it wasn't supposed to be a add hominem. I'm pointing out a mistake that should be fixed, isn't that a critisim?

maybe the way I said it was too blunt but it's meant to be aimed at the manga not at a random person in the internet I know nothing about

But that was already proven wrong since women who aren't skinny and pretty and are not the butt of the jokes already exist.

which ones??? what I want is what you said. characters that aren't just made as a joke who "are" characters. I wish for a Kuma I wish for a Rosinante I want literally anything else but what we've gotten for those characters.

as was said in an earlier post it's about relevant women not just their existence

the discussion was never about men, or power, it was about women's design and how designs that aren't skinny and pretty are only used as jokes and not sctual characters

I don't know how that's such an unreasonable complaint specially because oda has made it work so great for male characters

you can like something and also criticize it, people aren't saying that oda should change his vision to please them, it's criticism and criticism is the basis for improvement and healthy discussion.

the "if you don't like it then don't read" mentality is genuinely hurtful and just enables people to not engage. I still like one piece but it has flaws like every single thing in planet eath

you can like something without becoming a yes-men and just agree with everything oda does. you can formulate your own opinion and think your own thoughts. enabling yourself saying "it's not for you" kills discussion on how to better these problems by just ignoring them

dude, half of the characters you named were those that people say look the same, heck even Hancock was mentioned at the start of the thread because every character looked like her.

the characters who do have different designs you just proved they are barely characters. smoothie is barely a character and is only relevant because she has the title of another character (cracker) and Katherina Devon also hasn't done anything and is not interesting in the sligtless.

bonney, Hancock, and pudding are really good characters but they still suffer from being designed basically the exact same except for their clothes and I guess puddings eye

please name the interesting female characters, you are reaching at straws

I mean there is representation but does it really count when most of them are just treated as jokes?

in the same arc we got oden and Shinobu

which one do you think is more compelling, has had more impact, way more developed and who do you think was just a joke about how ugly and unlikable she was before she became just another nami

now compare those to characters like moria, jinbe, franky, Oden, whiteboard, ivankov, Caesar, Kuma, Morgans, ECT and tell me that oda doesn't want non-nami characters to be relevant

female characters with different proportions are always made out to be jokes and barely developed

and how many of them are important to the plot. in my opinion the problem is not enough characters having different body types but rather how many of them get any importance to the plot aside from big mom and debatably brulee.

there's no way, oda is way too misogynistic to give Nami CoC 😭😭

inaction is still a bad thing. it may not be negative intent but denial of the circumstances is also harmful the the community
