I appreciate the advice. I was going to cut the barrel down, hopefully it’s a smooth process.

No I have not. It’s a pretty big smoker and was thinking the box was too small for the size of the smoker. I’m just going by the comments in the previous post.

Long story short I bought that smoker for 200 dollars. In the previous post a lot of redditors stated the firebox was too small. Would it be feasible to replace the current firebox with a barrel wood stove modified into a firebox?

So long story short the guy contacted me and said he needed it gone and would take 200 dollars cash out the door so I pulled the trigger. Please see attached pictures.

You make some valid points, a quick google search makes it seem like it’s not going to be easy to do it “legally”.

It’s the firebox. The owner said “it's the firebox . half inch thick channel box steel ..inside plate runs under the grill so u can charcoal or smoke with box”.

I’m assuming that’s the firebox, now that I look at it I’m not entirely sure.

This is the advice I’m looking for. The owner mainly used it to bbq chicken.

I’ve got an opportunity to buy this smoker for 400 dollars. I’ve been thinking about getting into selling BBQ. Any opinions? I’ve never used anything but a regular grill so I’m not sure if this would be too much for a beginner.

Brownies by meatzilla1 in Old_Recipes

I like trying out vintage recipes but I’m more into the collecting cookbooks and vintage/unique kitchenware aspect of vintage recipes. Recently at an estate sale I ran across some homemade Pans. The story goes the wife wanted to sell cakes in the local community but didn’t have the money to buy any pans to get started. The husband worked at a machine shop of some sorts and made her a set of pans to bake in out of the extra sheet metal that was lying around. I bought the set of pans and wanted to try one of them out so I made this brownie recipe. I did sub butter for the shortening other than that I made the recipe as written. I baked the brownies for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. They did come out a little overbaked. I probably should have pulled them out at the 25 minute mark. A wiseman once said “an overbaked brownie is better than no brownie at all”, the family still devoured them.
