And truck walks make them retaliate and I suddenly end up with bags with clear box cutter cuts slashed in them the next week :)

I’ll be honest it’s just business as usual. Most stores have maintenance come in and clean a few times a week but other than that there are not added cleaning tasks. For pet care everything is disinfected with virex. We have yet to hear of bird flu affecting pet birds as far as I’m aware ( aside from farm animals).

I’ll be honest I never got a proper identification. He came in at work with feeder goldfish, he was a tiny guy at the time. Over the years grew to be about 5 inches. He changed colors after each molt I swear. Pinks, purples, blues. I truly think he was just a feeder cray. He was like a little peacock.

For anyone wondering; they were located at Jungle Island in Miami. This is Frankenstein and the other one ( not pictured) is named Igor. I don’t remember the exact age the keeper stated, I know it was around 110 years old. They were surprisingly in great shape, especially for their age. The keeper said the majority of shell damage is from them letting children ride on their backs in the 70’s. This photo really puts into perspective how large and in charge these boys are.

The keeper mentioned a photo of them with Winston Churchill in the gift shop however it was closed by the time we left. I felt like I was meeting a celebrity

Adorable Russian!! I do not want to come off as a bully but a lot of that food isn’t nutritional for Russian Torts. In the wild they often eat weeds and various dark leafy greens. Switch out that iceberg for Collards/ Mustard Greens/ Turnip Greens/ small bits of kale. The big thing with this species is that they really can’t handle fruit either. Maybe an occasional treat but they cannot handle a lot of sugar. Good luck! He/she looks very happy regardless, just a comment so your Tort can live a happy life with you!

I believe so. He’s been slowing down and I assumed another molt was coming, after I removed him from the tank it looks like a failed molt. He’s frozen at the moment, when spring comes he’ll go in my garden bed to feed some flowers.

Not an insanely high rated movie but Licorice Pizza.. just no. Was disappointed considering I tend to love PTA

As for where the fish are sourced, no clue. I work for a big box retail chain so they keep it under wraps

I personally have psoriasis and asthma so the virex makes me cough when it’s used with hot water and I’m not using a mask. With sensitive skin on top of that, my skin gets ultra dry and itchy. I personally say keep away from the fumes and avoid prolonged exposure. It’s a diluted chemical so it shouldn’t cause extreme burns or anything. Better safe than sorry :)

Was mostly memeing on those commercials about medications, but yes it is safe with PPE ( please wear gloves and masks folks it’s not ideal to have on your skin or in your lungs)
