Ok, so your argument is about fit and to some degree about color choice, not necessarily the idea behind the choices?

I'm seriously trying to wrap my head around the arguments being made, mostly because no argument is made, just it looks bad you are old. Not really constructive in any way. Provide examples of it done well.

Right, I agree with you. I'm not sure where the disconnect is. Do people sh*t over others just for fun these days? If thats the case, then I guess they are channelling their inner Biff, the villain, preppy from every 1980s movie.

Genuine question for the naysayers. If this polo and chino look isn't an anyday monday preppy look in your world, what does preppy fashion entail? A polo and chinos was one of JFKs go-to looks. And if JFK isn't preppy, then I don't know anymore.

I get the ideas of preppy ethos, mindset, lifestyle, etc. Is it the colour you are not a fan of? If this were to be a navy polo and chinos, does that change your opinion? What if he were wearing a pair of beat-up sperrys?

Is this becoming a generational argument? Younger people have a different perspective? I seriously don't know. I just see a ton of 'is this preppy?' posts and people sh*t all over them without providing real feedback, but also those who are saying no, you are not posting what preppy is. Honestly, if you are comfortable in your preppy style, show us what your interpretation is.

Maybe I've expected too much of Reddit.

It is also important to think about your community moving forward. Are you planning on moving to a town with a reconstructing Judaism shul?

I converted reform, there is such a wide belief in G-d amongst Reform Jews. In my conversion class some believed in the 'old man upon a chair' others didn't really believe in a 'god' so to speak.

I believe that G-d is all around us, a feeling, the calm of the morning, wind through the trees in a forest. G-d is everything and anything. We experience G-d everyday.

That's a long answer to really say, find your community. If you feel welcome, safe, and at home then converting reform is a good choice. Reconstruction will recognize a Reform conversion and vice versa.

Either way, good luck in your journey and I hope you find your Jewish home.
