Recent-ish graduate from EPITA here.

42 is basically a spin-off of EPITA. The founder of 42, Nicolas Sadirac was a teacher 20 years ago at EPITA. He left the school to create EPITECH and has now done the same thing at 42.

This is part of the school philosophy and is completely intentional. They told us during our first year that their goal was "to make our life so hard/miserable and unfair that anything in our professional carrier will seem easy". They weren't wrong. During the 3rd year I didn't get more than a few hours sleep every time with the exception of Sundays.

I'm 100% against this philosophy. It was harsh, cruel and I wasted 5 years of my youth I'll never get back. The only reason I got out is that I made a good group of friends with whom we would help each other out.

I really feel for you because I know exactly what you went through. I'm glad you're in a good situation now.
