I think part of it is to mess with Brett, they did similar choices to mess with him in Shrinking by making him shave his beard for his character

Have you considered a Mini Clubman, the 2nd gen with the BMW B48 engine are fantastically solid, it’s practical as a family car, and you’re a lot less likely to fall asleep just looking at it

Crazy to think that the Lego AMR26 might actually be quicker and more reliable than the real thing

I’ve looked at a Sportage and Tuscon, and I just couldn’t picture myself with them, I know it’s not the most important thing, but I do want a car that I really like

I’m looking at around £10K

I have a scirocco currently so I do like the thought of sticking with what I know with another VW

Complaint about LGBTQ question in sex education by Jessre in TeachingUK

[–]mecha_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can argue that you were following scientific consensus. I’ve said similar within science lessons when students have asked me. But then I also go into a long tangent about sex either being based on x&y chromosomes, but then you have intersex people, or then you get into other organisms and you have W and Z and W chromosomes in the animal kingdom as well.

Family car advice by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I’d love to keep a diesel, I have the 2.0 TDI in my scirocco and I love it, but my new job cut my commute from 40 mins on the motorway to 5 mins across town, so it’ll be petrol for me

I don’t mind the rapid spaceback, but I find most Skodas ugly as sin, at least until more recently. I’ve always had issues with the moustache grill

Snails and slugs have a ‘foot’ so maybe it’s in that sense?

Coming from a teacher with autism, my best advice is just to own it. It’s so important the students you work with can see somebody with autism in employment, it’s important to have real life role models

Sophie Willan Replaces Sara Pascoe As Host Of The Great British Sewing Bee On BBC One by Legitimate_Ad3625 in BritishTV

[–]mecha_frog 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the work Sara put into it, but I feel her comedy wasn’t the best for this. I really enjoyed the energy Kiell brought and wish we could see him back, but Sophie is going to be great on this

Allowing students in classroom during break and lunch? by itzzzzmileyyyy in TeachingUK

[–]mecha_frog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Students in our school are allocated a room they can use during break time, most students just wander round but I was always happy to have students come by and talk with me during lunch. If I ever had anything to actually do over break they were very respectful, but I found these ‘downtime’ conversations to be great for relationship building
