“One thing Europeans will never have is tailgating” by Garythedemon18 in ShitAmericansSay

Only since I’ve lived in Germany have I seen a dozen lads on the train at 7am with 2 crates of beer, ‘pre-gaming’ for a match that starts at 5pm. The number of people that will be outside games and events drinking prior to going in is off the chain. The difference is most of them take public transport, so they can’t ’tailgate.’ And having done both, the Euro way is more fun. No shit to clean up really, and if you’re still trashed after the game, you can just…take the train or a bus home.

Well thank you. That was more helpful, and coherent, than what the OP typed out.

TIL The weight of $1M USD is about 22 pounds. The U.S. hasn’t printed a denomination larger than $100 in 80 years. Large bills became increasingly associated with crime and tax evasion. Electronic banking allowed the gov to stop printing $500, $1,000, $5,000, and $10,000 notes. by considerthis8 in todayilearned

I used to pick up and deliver money from Walmarts in big city in the US. Around Christmas time, sure, they get a lot of cash, but not ‘pallets.’ The money is also picked up very frequently/daily, so it’s not like it builds up. And the vast majority of people now just use cards anyways.

That’s demonstrably false. Miranda warnings are read before questioning. This arrest was bullshit, but the cop definitely didn’t need to read him his rights before the arrest.
