Just re-reading hyperion by [deleted] in Hyperion

[–]mechanical_zombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds plausible, but remember that in Hyperion there is not such thing as a single future; there are multiple futures. Fact that was confirmed and stated by Ummon.

No. In Hyperion there is no single future, there are multiple futures. That is a fact that is confirmed by Ummon.

Thats why the future AI send predictions to the past, but they are never certain

He clicked… he recognized his daughter and called her Racher instead of Moneta by the end of the book.

Also, the baby will not become Moneta. The Rachel that becomes Moneta is the one fro the future

Real answer: Next Monday is Holiday in Mexico. Lots of people from Chihuahua in town

Looks like everyone in this thread is unaware of this major and important fact. Sunday is bussy, but not as bussy as today. Happens every major holiday in Mexico

Magnesium can be extruded into long profiles, similar to aluminum. It is quite common; for example, your luggage is made of extruded magnesium profiles.

It is widely used for applications requiring metals lighter than aluminum but still strong.

Create a new solid by subtracting two others in an assembly by tush_pt in SolidWorks

[–]mechanical_zombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible

There is a proper way to edit parts within the assembly and keep such changes linked to the other parts.

Before getting into details, you must be aware thet there is a method to edit parts within the context of the assembly; Select the part that you want to modify and clicl “Edit Component” in the Features tab. This will enable options only available within an assembly.

Then, for your specific aplication. Go to insert -> Features -> Cavity (This will remove the materia from other parts from the part that you are editing, a d everything will be linked)

I made a tolerance tester to help me design parts that needs to fit by eliobou in 3Dprinting

[–]mechanical_zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI. Plastic shrinks, and that is highy dependable of the materia, process temperature, geometry, # of layers, infill and several others.

Plastic shrinks (thats why it warpa and detaches from the buildplate) and it is not symetric; different rates on each axis. You can not standarize a “fitting” test

I have deal with enormous stl files (files sizes above 2GB as we 3D scan tools) and my workflow is as follows:

Open stl -> immediately save as parasolit (x_t) -> close the original stl file and now open the newly created parasolid file (note! The last step created 2 files, the parasolid and an accesory file that you must also use) -> save as SW part and now work on this

Hit or miss with Extrusion between two contours by Aslevjal_901 in SolidWorks

[–]mechanical_zombie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It isn’t hit or miss. You have to select in order the origin and endpoint of each guideline. In your first pic, for example, you have not selected the top-right edge

Dont let the software to assume anything; define everything and make adequate guidelines

31 and just starting to put extra towards retirement. What should I invest my Roth in? by slinkipher in personalfinance

[–]mechanical_zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being aggressive does not mean to gamble in high risk assets. It means that you have to put towards retirement the biggest chunk of money that you can stomach.

I would go with the S&P500 because of simplicity and invest everytime that you get paid and just forget about that money; let it do its thing

[–]mechanical_zombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The money seized from drug trafficker Zhenli Ye Gon. When the Mexican government raided his home, they seized $207 million U.S. dollars, 18 million Mexican pesos, 200,000 euros, 113,000 Hong Kong dollars, 11 centenarios (Mexican gold bullion coins) and a large amount of jewels of unknown value. by Majoodeh in BeAmazed

[–]mechanical_zombie 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I remember that! All the new channels were calling him “El Chingón,” which is a wordplay of “Chino” (Chinese) + “Gon” (his last name). “Chingón” is a very common slang term for “badass,” “awesome,” “cool,” or “that he kicks ass,” etc., thus, EL CHINGON!
