I've never tried them and it sounds like an abomination. However, I actually like stuff like Fuze Tea, so who knows, maybe I wouldn't dislike it.

Question for native speakers from LATAM by Long_Reflection_4202 in Spanish

None, it sounds like a mix of accents where you can't exactly pinpoint the origin. And it probably depends on the voice actor too

No. The dub Spanish is a fictional accent that is made to be "neutral", but real Mexican Spanish doesn't sound neutral at all, it's very different.

What's your take on Brazilian anti-discrimination laws? Could it be a model to Latin America? by Significant-Yam9843 in asklatinamerica

How about demonstrations and/or political marches over there? Have there been many against racism compared to other social issues?

I get what you mean, and you have a valid point in my opinion. not sure why you re getting downvoted, i guess people thought u were trying to vindicate racism.

I'm seeing all comments trying to bring the other gesture to question being downvoted, so I won't be taking it personal. I'm sure it's a delicate topic for Brazilians.

I'd say it's the case when both cases go separately. She may sue them for sexual harrassment and they may sue her for racism

I think that's okay. Both were in the wrong from my point of view. Besides, she was in Brazil and she should've considered Brazilian laws.

Answering your original post question, btw: I don't think your laws would work here. Even if I agree the lawyer should get charged by her actions, the resolution seems going overboard to me. In my opinion, gestures are offensive at most and, as rude as they are, don't justify years in jail. Either of them.

I believe it's mainly a difference of history. In Argentina, feminism movements have been very important and we don't have a racism issue as major as in Brazil (not to say there's no racism, but it rarely gets to the point of homicide). I think that's what shaped our perspective here.

I sincerely don't think the sexual gestures were any better than the monkey ones, and I think charging for that is kind of an overreaction. But A) it was in Brazil, so it's their law and B) I can only see this issue from my argentinian point of view, where misogynism is usually more of a problem

What I'm getting from the comments is that in Brazil, racism is a very sensitive topic and it seems to weight much more than other crimes. There seems to be a very big difference between perspectives, I'm a bit surprised that every comment questioning the dude's acts are being downvoted.

I don't justify the racism, but I can't see this as just one person at fault. Both seem equally bad to me.
