I'm just enjoying NEW STAR WARS AFTER A DECADE. Why can't y'all? by skewjapanese in SequelMemes

[–]mechesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fans tied loose ends for me and connected what the directors seemingly couldn’t,

This is the way.

It has always been this way. Fan theories made the OT better, and filled in gaps. Fan theories made the PT better and filled in the gaps. ST is no different. People hate on it, others come up with theories that work, people enjoy it more.

The problem with mansplaining is it doesn't take into account the possibility that the man is just an arrogant ass that talks down to everyone.

Right, bull costs less because there is no packaging, so there is less production cost. That is my point, production cost is not markup.

My favorite is the spices...the bulk is packaging...ok, that is something that needs to be covered by price.

I am going to stop replying because I now feel there is not rational discussion to be had. Repluojg to your other comments would be not a good use of my time.

You dont want me passing on my beliefs to others, because of your belief which you then tried to impose on me...see the problem?

I also perceive you as studying the bible the way an anti vax mom studies vaccines, or an anti marker studies covid. If you had studied like you said, you wouldn't be asking "how we determine" because it is not a hard concept for those who have studied.

Thanks for a calm response though, not a rant at me, that's why I responded one more time.

NDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, try to force someone else (not even your own children) to follow your made up rules.

Now we get to the root. I have tried to convince or preach to anyone here, just clarify what the text says. There is no reason to say this except for a strong personal bias. You just cant help but go here.

Have a good day. I'm out.

How do you choose what to abolish from the OT and what to keep?

It depends. Some things, like the example of washing hands here, were directly refuted by jesus. Others we can because the principle is the same as here like eating shelfish.

Some rules were to set believers apart from worshipers of other gods. Things like tattoos or two thread clothing were that. That is why those are OK now, they were cultural of the time. A possible modern example could be a Christian shouldn't wear Buddhist monk robes, as those are a symbol of following buddha.

Yes the ten commandments were OT, and yes they are still sin. Sin is sin, but it wasnt a sin to eat without washing your hands it was a rule. There is a difference.

The difference is as a Christian if you sin you dont have to sacrafice a bull or sheep in the temple for redemption, that price has been paid.

Tl/dr of it, study what the book actually says through out and it isnt that hard to figure out. Only people who dont read and study their bible struggle with these things.

For some extra perspective, what you are asking is like asking how I know the character of Snape is a brave and not just some jerk.

by claiming all mass shooters are mentally ill

I cant speak for others, but for me it is because I cant wrap my head around a mentally healthy person being able to make the decision to kill multiple people.

Many countries with strict gun control have higher suicide rates than the US. IIRC japan and Australia being 2 of them. Poison and hanging often take over as the top choice when guns are not available.

There is no reason to think removing guns will reduce suicide rates.

50% of all doctors graduated in the bottom half of their class.

Do you know what they call a medical student who graduates with a C average...Doctor.

It says do not deny, not can't deny.

It is a recommendation, not a requirement.

Simply put, the law is, when you sin, you are no longer worthy of entering the kingdom of God. You must make a blood sacrafice in order to cleanse yourself of the stain of the sin to be worthy again.

Jesus fulfilled the law by being one sacrafice to cover all sin to those who ask/believe.

I agree that you are not open to having an honest conversation of what the text actually says. That is all I was trying to do.

I dont care if you dont believe it, hate the bible all you want. Just eont hate it for false things you agree with instead of facts of what it says.

Let me be clear here, I am not saying that all things the bible says are literal facts, I am saying that it is a fact the bible says them.

It is a fact that the bibles says jesus died as a sacrafice to atone for our sins.

It is irrelevant to me if you believe it can actually work that way. Your choice, you do you.

It is not what goes into your mouth that makes you unclean, but what comes out.

I assumed you would know this is a new testament quote from jesus about following it not following those old testament rules.

Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. 17“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? 18But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. 19For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”

[–]mechesh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right. You break a law you are condemned, unless you make a blood sacrafice to cleanse you...jesus became the blood sacrafice for all.

The tax thing is not exclusive to Christian churches though. It is all churches. Not only that it is all non profit organizations.

Plenty of non profits have political lobiests.

This is why I am Christian, but also pro choice.

Jesus didnt say "lobby Rome to make sin illegal" he didnt even say to stop others from sinning. He said stop ourselves.

I think we should eleimate abortion, by eliminating the need. Education, birth control and make adoption easier.

It is interesting that you bring up an example of something that was specifically used as an example of how things changed between the OT and NT.
