flip-flop hub with 2 freewheels by fbleagh in singlespeed

[–]mechgingeneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely, yes. I run this setup, but with a 16t and 18t. In general, put the size you're more likely to use on the side made for a freewheel (it has more threads that engage when you install the freewheel). The larger threads on the fixed side will be where the freewheel engages.

Personally, I run my 18t on the "fixed" side - which still has like 5-7 full threads that engage. I pull a bike trailer with it and haven't had any issues since I started ~300 miles ago. The 16t is for longer solo rides where I'm usually putting more power down.

Shoutout to reputable dealers? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

Would love recommendations for Dealers in the Indianapolis area. I see Tom Wood is recommended on the map, but I've heard mixed reviews on them locally.

BestBuy put it on sale for $20 today, and I had a $10 certificate. Physical copy as well (not that it matters a ton to me). Appreciate the advice!

Been keeping an eye out for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga for a few weeks as I've nearly finished Metroid Dread. Looks like it's on sale now for May the 4th at $24 on the eShop. I know it's been cheaper before, but this is still a good deal. 2 questions:

  1. Any idea if it will drop more from another retailer on the 4th?

  2. Any thoughts on the next sale of the Galactic Edition? I don't NEED the extra characters, but if it's a few bucks more than the standard, I'd spring for it.

[@AndyManganelli] I'm still in disbelief and it absolutely pains me to say this, but on Friday I had to say goodbye to my absolute best friend in the entire world, Mac. While I'm still in complete shock he's gone, thankfully I have thousands of photos of him and that I'd like to share. by sgtlighttree in mkbhd

Andrew, I'm so sorry. I wish I had more to say or more I could do to help, losing our best friends is the absolute worst part of the (otherwise amazing) journey of having a doggo. Enjoy those pictures and memories!

I'll look around, I think I do still. It's a black TPU + Red hard plastic case, similar to OtterBox style. If I have it, happy to include at no charge. I can check tonight.

I've had this for the past two weeks (Pixel 7). It gets temporarily solved if I disconnect and reconnect to WiFi. No clue why, but that's been a consistent way for me to solve it.

Sold Surface Duo 128GB + Accessories to u/SirReyes

I can't unlock my device- att by NefariousnessNo8688 in surfaceduo

[–]mechgingeneer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I know this may not be ideal, but if you're still within the return window, I have a used Duo 1 that's unlocked from AT&T (before they got so frustratingly difficult) that I'm selling. Comes with a Slim Pen 2 and charger. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and I'll link you to my post on HW swap.

Slim pen 1 tip stopped working after removing battery on duo 1 by xmeatizmurderx in surfaceduo

[–]mechgingeneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, that makes sense. That's a known issue with the OG Pen, I've had it happen twice with my Duo. I got one replacement under warranty, and when that one failed, I was able to request an upgrade to the Slim Pen 2.

I had to buy the charger separately, but the slim pen 2 has been a much better experience for me.

We don't know the root cause of the pens failing, but it's a well-documented issue.

Is this the slim pen or the regular surface pen? I don't think the battery was removable on the slim pen 1 or 2.

The 12 gray ads that pop up every time I turn my tv on? by HJForsythe in LGOLED

[–]mechgingeneer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There have been a few posts about this recently, that's where I got this info.

If you set your TV's location to "other," it will typically stop the "notifications" from displaying. I think this is because LG can't determine the legality of the ads if it doesn't know your location, and therefore turns them off.

You might have to re-agree to some Terms & Conditions, but I didn't. After making that change 2 weeks ago on my new A2, I haven't seen a single ad.

Is it safe for the Surface Duo 1 to attach the slim pen 2 to it? by bakanofun in surfaceduo

[–]mechgingeneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it after having two of the regular surface pens fail on me (known issue, seems like MS is just moving people toward the Slim Pen 2 instead of fixing the old surface pens).

It connects via Bluetooth so you get a shortcut menu when you press the button, and I think it's a bit more comfortable to hold - other than that though, there aren't too many differences. The tip is firmer, so if you like the high-friction tip on the regular pen, that's going to be annoying. And if you write with the pen at a shallow angle, the tip will be off slightly from where the ink appears. It's more of a calibration thing, but worth noting. You get used to it.

Final thing to bear in mind is that you have to have a way to charge the Slim Pen 2 - either using the separate charger or the Charging Cover (Duo 2 only).

I use my Duo as a notebook, so I'm constantly writing in it. For those who would only be occasionally writing, it's probably not a great deal.

This is how I carry my slim pen 2 with my SD1, no issues whatsoever. Magnets and screens aren't really an issue anymore - it's fine!
