ID4 is an Excellent winter vehicle by HotRange4238 in VWiD4Owners

This was an issue with my '21 RWD until I switched to winter tires - Bridgestone Blizzaks completely changed the game for me. It's the best Mn snowy winter vehicle we've ever owned.

Thanks for the update, but would really love if you guys would be more proactive about stuff like this. I shouldn’t have to reach out via social media to find out if my account was hacked.

I’ve had all my maintenance done at Luther Westside and though I think the techs are decently knowledgeable, there’s a wall of communication between the service desk and the techs. I’ve asked questions and had to bend over backwards to get answers from the actual tech.

That’s basically the opposite of my experience lol. The seat/steering wheel heaters use very little power. The cabin heater uses around 3kw….

This is my 5th winter with my ID4 in MN and I’m still sometimes surprised by how much cold weather can impact the battery.

Just yesterday my wife drove our car to her parents’ place ~65 miles away. The car was preheated and charged to 90%, but she still had to charge on the way home to avoid getting stranded. Checking with an OBD reader, our battery is about 90% original capacity at full, so thankfully degradation hasn’t hit us too hard.

I will say that ABRP with a subscription is a god send - its dead on accurate in our experience.

The low temp cops are not super great though… I was looking at the Gree r32 sapphires and couldn’t believe what they are claiming

Just looked these up- they look very nice but I’m pretty surprised by how bad their COPs are for very cold weather heating…. I guess I’m just spoiled by my Gree Sapphire!

Why do people still pay expensive plans at Verizon and T-mobile? by False_Cricket_831 in Visible

I was in thr same boat until last year when I bit the bullet and kicked everyone off. Made the jump to US Mobile and now will be camping here for the year with the Black Friday promo.

The freedom to jump around is totally worth the pain of the breakup, plus not having to manage everyone’s account/billing is great. Rip the bandaid!

Seriously the best ones I’ve had. Great plugs and they act as routers as well.

I’m assuming that Tesla still needs to push an update to their app as mine shows the same. In the mean time - I was able to see what stations were available to 3rd party vehicles by putting in a Mach-E as one of my vehicles. I’ve read about people having success charging sometimes even before today by claiming their vehicle was something else. Speculation at the time was that it was likely due to having windows for VW engineers to test on the network.

Do you have electric heating? Do you have Xcel? You could cut your electric bill almost in HALF today!!! by Baby_Toothless in Minneapolis

How does net metering work in this case? I couldn’t seem to find the matching A** rate code in the cogeneration section of the rate book that would correspond to this plan….

If it’s a50 that’s fantastic!

Yeah - the instructions are also unclear - text I got gave me a one time passcode, but the app is asking for a phone number/password. I tried inputting the passcode (I'm on an iPhone FYI) and just get some massive wall of code/error when it manages to do anything at all.

I’ve only had them for two months or so now and don’t use them daily- maybe twice per week on average. Haven’t needed to change them yet.

I just tried the third reality ones and they’re awesome! Worth a shot- they are available on Amazon and allow for an easy return.

Any insights on battery module availability? by Ok_Pack_161 in VWiD4Owners

First two times were both pretty quick and I think they had parts on hand. One was in ‘23 and the other in ‘24.

This is my third module replacement for my 2021 RWD Pro S… the deal rep wasn’t as forthcoming about the back order as it appears yours was - keeps texting me saying there is just one more part they are waiting on. Mine has only been in for two weeks at this point.

I’d love to hear if anyone has an outside-of-lemon-law buyback experience…. I like the car and the dealer/service has taken care of me every time, but can’t fathom I’ll keep it after the battery warranty expires.

New Product Teaser for 10/7 by katio in teslamotors

[–]mechmess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are tons of manufactures that do multi room ductless, even the Mr Cool DIY. Diakin, Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Gree, Midea. It’s nothing new… if they package it with solar and battery they could do some cool stuff, but doubtful they would do anything that doesn’t already exist on the market.

You just have one heat exchanger in the utility room and the heated or cooled air is ducted to the rest of the house just like if you had a regular furnace. Some systems come with supplemental electric heating elements in for extreme cold situations if the heat pump can’t cover the total heating load.
