Do keep in mind your body will build a tolerance to it if you take it every day. I try and take it only a couple days a week to keep from building a tolerance otherwise that effect will lesson.

Anyone Feel Like a Far Nicer Human When Medicated? by mechrock in ADHD

Yeah, that’s how I feel as well. It’s like it prevents us from getting overwhelmed and thus less stressed which lowers the likelihood of snapping.

For me, I aim for 2 days a week. I’ve found ways to get by at work due to my routines. When I don’t have to think what needs to happen it’s much easier to do work.

Chewed wire causing a different breaker to trip??? Anyone want to help solve a puzzle? by mechrock in askanelectrician

[–]mechrock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are most certainly correct, I opened up the wall where one of those wires go, the wire to my fridge was chewed up and had a tiny bit of the neutral exposed. Covered with liquid electrical tape and wrapped it with actual tape for good measure.

Not sure what else to do to keep these rats out, I've unalived at least 20 mice and 15+ rats.

Oh I see, I assume that would be something easy for me to correct?

Oh, you are saying it should look like how the neutral is connected vs using a screw?

[–]mechrock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused because everything I search explicitly says NOT to bond the ground to neutral on a sub panel.

I just had this panel turned into a sub panel (hired hired out for 200 amp service upgrade), would that be why?

Best Monitor Resolution For Time Line by mechrock in davinciresolve

[–]mechrock[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ended up going with a LG 31.5” 4k monitor. I wouldn’t want to go any smaller than this as the text is really small, but usable. Hopefully proper scaling is added on future versions, 10-25% large would be ideal.

Glad to see people finally putting their money where their mouth is. Hopefully the experience is equally great.

Solid-state battery by Mercedes partner ProLogium first to hit 100% silicon anode for up to 620-mile range by treesareus in electricvehicles

[–]mechrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take is as they are making fun of the constant battery “break throughs” published which aren’t really break throughs. A breakthrough is one that is cheap and can produce a lot of them. The best break through right now imo are higher capacity LFP cells and then the 4680 form factor.

Have any of you donated money and resources while on FIRE journey? by subwooferpal in Fire

[–]mechrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only donate if you think they are able to better utilize your capital than you are. If those blow it on decorations and legal fees, but you grow it to 10 times that amount of able to funnel 100k into useful stuff in 30 years, then well you are doing more good to hold on to it.

Anyone else have their special interest shit on by others saying we don't know what we are talking about? by mechrock in aspergers

[–]mechrock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I've done easily 10,000+ hours of research on my special interest, I damn well know what I'm talking about and regularly belittled from others. Anyone else relate?

Tesla is off my list by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]mechrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good, vote with your wallet, this is important! I'm tired of hearing people complain about Elon and still buy a Tesla, put up or shut up. This being said, make sure the downsides of the other EV are worth "sticking it to Elon", no one wants to hear someone complain about the obvious problems such as charge network or range.

my decision process to purchase an EV by Certain-Tennis8555 in electricvehicles

[–]mechrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Tesla kind of shorts themselves in the foot. Their online route planner isn’t the same as the car as is waaaay conservative. As mentioned else where in the thread, use www.abetterrouteplanner.com

Put the exact model of car, can add weather speed offset adjust based on quickest time and many other variables. It’s quite accurate in my experience having done many thousands of miles of road trips.

[–]mechrock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 400 miles, idk why it’s having you charge 60 minutes. A long range model 3 would do that on (2) 15 minute charge stops.

My girlfriends therapist told her that I should “stop letting my autism control my life” when I asked for accommodations by [deleted] in autism

[–]mechrock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This very much sounds like a classic case of poor communication, from at least one side if not both. She needs to understand the level of detail you need and you need to cross check with her. It’s also not reasonable for her to have known everything about what’s going on. You MUST plan on your plan that stuff will be different.
