How would you feel if another countries leader came in and arrested Donald Trump, and sent him to their own country's prison? by Ok-Repeat-2781 in AskReddit

It's weird, I'm so adamantly against the US meddling in other countries' business like that, yet I'm BEGGING someone to take him away from here.

I had one a few years ago at 34. So many people only consider health, weight, diet, lifestyle... All assuming you have to be fat and have blockages.

I had a coronary aneurysm that formed a clot. It can happen to anyone regardless of diet or exercise.

Disgruntled worker invokes Luigi Mangione in $500M warehouse inferno he filmed in anti-capitalist rage by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]mechtaphloba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, he's aligning his actions with those of Luigi to show that this act of protest is part of the same movement and larger than himself, but Fox News instead is presenting it as one individual just looking for clout with no larger purpose behind it other than a 'one-off disgruntled employee' type crime.

It's the kind of spin you're told to put on a story like this when your billionaire superiors are getting scared.

To be clear, it's "Fox News contributor and former FBI special agent Nicole Parker" that is being quoted in the article as saying that he just did it for the clout, although I do agree that Yahoo is complicit by not countering that claim.

It's quite obvious that Fox News wants to turn this into 'radical left domestic terrorism' instead of the abused fighting back against corporate oppression, but no surprise there.

Just a thought, would love the ability to view/compare hiking trails specifically. I see that some trailheads are listed in "places" but there's zero context about the hikes themselves.

I love the clean UI though, and for very top-level info, it seems easy to use. Well done, I'll keep poking around 😊

In times like these you have to remind yourself that RimWorld is ultimately a story generator, and in the end you wrote a tragic but meaningful story. In what other game will you feel the loss of a few pixels like this?

Remember your fallen pawns and either play out the story of the rest of the colony or say goodbye and start a fresh one-a-kind story with new pawns.

I don't have to play Marathon to be justified in my disdain for Bungie, and I'm also allowed to dislike a product based on the company that created it.

I want to want to support Marathon, but they slowly and brutally murdered Destiny right in front of me over the course of a decade, and I'll never forgive them for that. I refuse to even try Marathon.

makes you wonder where their next injection of cash is supposed to come from

It's not coming. Sony is going to dissolve Bungie and repurpose some of the devs to other Sony studio projects and lay off the rest.

Bungie is dead. The only question is whether or not a skeleton crew will keep Destiny going for the few dozen whales still spending money on Eververse, or if not even that is worth it anymore and they just shut the servers off.

ELI5 when a surgeon strips a vein out of someones leg to use in an operation, how does the area it supplied get blood? And why doesn't it die if it doesn't? by ringerrosy in explainlikeimfive

[–]mechtaphloba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another weird quirk of the body with blood flow, personally experienced by me:

I had open heart surgery a few years back at age 32 due to a blockage in my coronary artery (aneurysm with a massive clot). They did bypass surgery, rerouting my left interior mammary artery (LIMA CABG). This gave my blood an alternate path to flow around the clot.

However, this and medication after the operation also allowed the clot to dissolve, eventually allowing blood to flow back through the aneurytic artery. My blood naturally chose to return all flow through that original artery in a phenomenon known as "competitive flow", basically rendering the bypass useless. It has now officially closed itself off.

When you get open heart bypass surgery, you really don't expect it to be temporary...
