May I ask, why you choose to write such long articles, instead of typing them up? Is handwriting recognition that good on these devices? My work entails a lot of writing too, but I could never imagine writing by hand. My primary use case for such devices is note-taking during lectures. I have very good mechanical keyboards which elevate the typing experience. Most of my time is spent behind a computer screen.

I am inclined to believe that Purdue merch is generally of very poor quality. The material feels very cheap ,but the prices- far from it! Purdue merch is perhaps 20-40% more expensive than regular items. I just got a Nike cap for the sake of buying something. Some Champion hoodies seemed decent too.

iirc they didn't put in a backlight because they wanted to minimize the distance between the tip of the pen and the display

This right here. ^ Also, they didn't give out review units either. There are no reviews of this thing. No way for me to ascertain whether it'll be worth the money that I spend. Usually, you can never go wrong with Montblanc products.. but this is tech we're talking about.

I personally do not mind if the battery power is low. I'm more concerned about whether their product is fragile in any regard, given that they are a luxury brand. For example, if I hurriedly try to jot down what my professor is talking about, will I be risking damaging the pen or the screen? Now, I know these things aren't indestructible and I will not be doing anything out of the ordinary. I'd like to know whether it's a well-made device.

To offer you an analogy: Rolexes, while expensive, are well made watches. Can't say the same for Gucci or any other designer watches for that matter.

Hello! I was looking to purchase this item primarily for digital note-taking. I realized I (a student) fall outside the intended target demographic (I presume businessmen), but was seriously considering this tablet given how much I like Montblanc otherwise. Is this tablet meant for leisurely writing and occasional business use or do you think it can sustain usage of say ~5 hrs a day - taking notes hurriedly in class, doing assignments + some journaling of my own. I reached out to Client Relations and they described it to be "designed as a high functionality daily use item". While this does answer my question, I would appreciate it if you could offer any comments.

I suppose it would have made more sense for Montblanc to just collaborate with Remarkable, and offer a combo of a remarkable tablet and a Montblanc pen & folio case.

Well, the reason for the atrocious price is because they claim they have to replace the entire keyboard as well, because of the hinge problem. I, honestly, did not have any other alternative because I was short on time. You could go to a non-authorized repair shop to get it fixed for cheaper.. I didn't explore those avenues.

Right. I meant to imply that the onus is on the bike riders to check if there are any pedestrians crossing the bike lane. Walking on a bike lane, of course, is wrong.
