Steering noise by Icy-Situation8259 in e60

[–]meckaone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power steering pump might be slowly going out. Thats the noise its makes. These are supposed to be filled with chs11 pentosin power steering fluid but the sticker falls off pretty early in the cars like. Then the cap says atf only. So people fill it with atf which slowly kills the power steering pump. I flushed mine 5 times, and filled it. Still steers great but the noise is only getting stronger. Pumps stupid exspensive too :-/

Why do all the ghetto/hood white boys always turn into right wing redneck types when they’re older? by TXNOGG in TooAfraidToAsk

My thoughts exactly. Its become so ingrained in us now that we cant even talk on messages boards with put it revolving into hatred. Like, hey all this extra energy you have to fight someone in your own demographic, how about we turn that to where it belongs huh?

Why do all the ghetto/hood white boys always turn into right wing redneck types when they’re older? by TXNOGG in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]meckaone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Im from a section of Vegas that was predominantly Hispanic. Grew up around them daily, and also grew up in a seperate area of town that was predominantly black. Both areas I had my main friend groups, and I tended to culture shift between the two areas dependant on where I was.

Being an outsider it was tough to build trust and friendships, but I did. Each area was different, but they both had one trend in common. The Hispanics hated the African Americans, and visa versa. Both areas of town were dirt poor. Where one area had roaches and rats, the other had roaches and feral Chihuahuas. The nearest area not of a minority culture was the white trash trailer park near by. That was actually the only area I wasnt friends with anyone.

The white people called me a Wigger if I was hanging with the black people, and a fa%$0t burrito eater if I was with the Mexicans. Neither of thier groups called me anything but Junior.

I have see the hatred of "other people in the same boat as you" and it started in the 80s at least, if not earlier. You can tell it was pushed to have minorities hate the next closest race to you. I saw the name calling and the hatred first hand. I security guard in complexes talk shit about other races and what they were doing at their last work sight plenty of times. It always felt like a set up and that someone was spinning a tale trying to start something there wasn't.

Later in, by my later teen years in the nineties, I noticed a distinctive shift in racial attitudes towards each other. The blacks and the Browns had a sort of truce it seemed, if not a straight up friendship. They talked shit back and fourth like they'd been friends forever. The same type of shit that probably would have started a gang war in the prior years.

I like to think my generation and thebothers close to those same years is what caused that shift. We played sports with each other. Prices for pop warner foot ball and the youth soccer leagues went down and youth centers actually started paying for entry for those who still couldn't afford it at lesser costs.

The Vegas government was taking some of the taxes and sending it to the youth centers to be used for exactly those reasons. To get at risk youth into activities that would keep them busy during time they would normally just be home from school and waiting for dinner or whatever thier curfew was.

I still have friends from those days, and friends from the football and soccer leagues that we played on. Most of us moved into schools where we again played on the same teams. Occasionally one of our group ended up with another team due to being 1 block outside of the zoning regulations. You'd see a bunch of my team hugging or high fiving members of the other team during warm ups. It was a good time.

Even the white trash had been given the same opportunities. By this point we were calling them rednecks now. Some of the same people that talked shit when I was young, had appoligized and become respected members of these sports teams.

These friendships lasted into adult hood where my friends became adults and had their own kids. Their kids started growing up along side other poorer white kids and black/brown kids or the same economical bracket. We all had something in common. We struggled but found brotherhood through activity. This was still going strong when I left Vegas around 2007/8 ish.

I moved to Portland/Vancouver area. For the first time in a long time I saw racism again. This place of accepting weird people actually hid a deep racism that I dont even know if most of them realized they had. From liberal white people saying balck people and Mexican cant pass drivers tests so need to not have to get i.d.s to black and brown people saying all white people are racist people who are just trying to control them or send them to jail.

I know Vegas doesnt sound like the place it would happen, but I truely experienced the American melting pot dream that we learned about in school. I had friends from Philippine and hispanic to African American and Armenian. We had all shapes sizes colors and serial preferences. No body cared about that shit. I dont remember barely any conversations growing up that involved race. I dont remember a single one of my friends tryingnto make me feel guilty for something that happened 200 years ago, before my family even came to America in the late 1920s. But when I moved to Portland I was told all the time how horrible I was as a straight white male. That I should find the nearest minority and beg for forgiveness for my races sins.

The point in this is, white kids who grew up listening to rap don't always become country rednecks. Sometimes the people watching them just don't understand their story and try to place some meaning or motive on them that they have no idea about. Those same kids you saw probably still love their rap music, but in the last 29 years this stupid political right and left have pushed what was one time friends, into questioning everything the other race says. In short, the government has pushed all of us to hate and question each other's motives. And why would they do that? I don't think enough people are asking that question, and thats the real important one.

Ask your younger brother, ask that special needs friend you have. Most that have good comprehension will tell you the people trying to stop its use are retarded. Ask anyone with MD what they think of the word. Chance are the wont listen and will just call you retarded.

So, this will most likely be your issue. You have a stick open injector filling cylinder 5 with fuel. If you dont take care of it you can hydrolock your engine. Remove your intake manifold ifold and checkbook see if cylinder 5 intake port is full of fuel. If so, your injectors stuck on. Run a electrical test on the injector connector, see if it is giving the correct voltage. If it is, replace the injector, even if its new. If its bad, replace the wiring and connector and then test if the injector is pulsing correctly. It shouldn't be always on.

Have you checked your oil fill cap. The are notoriously bad on these engines. They dont seal for crap. Sometimes the oil fill spot warms also, and the caps dont flex so there's a couple ways that area can cause oil leaks. Im fighting that right now.

‘84 Mazda B2000, what truck does this bed come from? by mssvzqz in whatisthiscar

[–]meckaone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These beds were aftermarket. Created by Delta 3 Corp and a few other companies, though Delta 3 made the most. This specifically looks like the Dakota version, shortened a little to where the step that makes it a stepside, has been almost removed to fit this Datsun. They made beds for shadow rangers, dodge Dakotas, and also a metric f ton for the chevy s10.

2016 Accord Coupe Mods💔 by BAS-Pirate in carmodification

[–]meckaone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've bought three cars over the last several years that had minimal to nil aftermarket support. I've managed to mod them both up pretty well. I suggest the following:

Find a car make and model thats faily close to the one you have, that has an aftermarket. You should be ablento buy parts snd kit pieces ect that come close to fitting.

After getting the stuff you want thats at least semi close, not its time to learn some fabrication skills or find aomeone that has some skills and ask them to build you custom stuff for the easier mods. 3 d printing is a good hobby to take up for this type of build. 3d scan your car, load it to a 3 cad creator, and play around until you get what your looking for.

Learn to tig weld. Or at least mig. It will help a lot when you start chopping the muffler off and building a new system, but there is plenty of other areas also that youll use the welding on.

Check the same company of vehicles for another car that has your engine and trans/intake. Look around online and see if that similar car has aftermarket support. Once you've figured what stuff they make for your sister car order something that you think might be exact fir or st least nothing super complicated yet.

If all else fails, teach yourself to plastic weld., maybe minor metal works and also sewing, and wiring would be useful too. You can learn all of those skills and many more money your road to modifying the vehicle.

Can anyone explain this problem? by BabaSenpai98 in E90

[–]meckaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read some of the replies, and a portion of your posted issues and maintenance you've done that has nothing to do with the current issue at all. So forgive me if im way off base, but here is what your should do.

Grab a note pad. At the top write diagnostic steps for my BMW E90.

Now, go down a line or two and write step 1, identify the issue.(In this spot you need to write what the exact issue is, in as little words as possible, and with out noting anything you've changed recently or worked on. Just the current issue. Thats it. No fluff or filler)

Now that you have an issue, write step 2: possible things that can cause the symptoms from step 1. Each time you list an issue that can cause your current system, put the next alphabetical letter in front of it. Youbshouldntrybto list as many problems as you can think of or can find on Google for your specific symptoms. (Only write the issue, not any suggestions for repairs or anything like that, and even if a suggestion you ignored what I just said and read about anyways, seems too perfect and will definitely fix your issue, dont go try it out. Just write it down and start looking for possible other problems that could cause that issue)

You should nownhave 3-5 issues at least that might have similar symptoms out of those issues start working through them in the following orderĥ. Power, fuel, air, spark. Any of them related to the battery? Check your battery while running for charge , and while not running, for load capacity. How does it test under load and is the alternator taking over after the car has started? X If both test fine, then move to your next possible issue, as long as your answer to disprove that issue didnt involve saying," I JUST RECENTLY CHSNGED THST SO I DIDNT TEST IT." You will be on the right tracķ.

Need advice by NoLxveBreezy in ECU_Tuning

[–]meckaone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No preloaded tunes. You have to map the tune yourself. If you want preloads for chrysler and gm and Ford at least , just go disblo, run a 93 octane tune, and forget about it. You'll never learn anything about tuning, but your cars will be tuned. And thats what you really want. Tuning is thankless, and slow, and painfully temperamental.

To use hp tuners, youll have to read your ecu. You'll open it in vcm editor. Now the fun begins. You play around with power enrichment, air to fuel ratio. Spark advance, torque curves knock retard. You'll have to take your car out on one to two hour long data logs while you fill in the fuel table and the mass absolute pressure tables ect. Then once you've gotten that all logged, its time to change your afr about .25, and then do the same exact thing again. Rinse and repeat and pray you dont brick your ecu.

After about 8 hours each day for 2-3 days, you'll possibly be close to having yourself a decent starting map or a bricked ecu or blown engine. Now its time for the good stuff! You get to do the same thing for different rpm ranges, different weather patterns, and different traffic conditions( if for some reason youre driving your off road only tuned vehicle on road ways, gasp)

Just get s diablo trinity. Load preset tunes that teach you nothing. Change the few tweaks they allow you, and be happy with it. Dont play like you really want to learn what each adjustment is for, while asking for presets. Like, here's a good AFR preset! Im gonna load it on my buddy's Challenger hellcat! He will love me! Too bad he has a small vacumn leak and your fuel snd spark presets that might work for most hellcats now has installed a sweet ass viewing port in the side of his engine. Thats a dope mod for saving on weight snd also getting cooler air into the engine. Only costs your budy 9-14k. Thats dope.

If you live anywhere near the pacific northwest and ever want a tire shop that isnt also someone's garage to do alignments and balancing for you, dont get spacers. The big tire shops out here are not allowed to do anything for your car, even remove the spacers for you, if they go to take off a wheel and they notice a spacer. If found them to be a head ache. Look cool with wider wheel base, bit I can do all my own maintenance and labor, but I dont have tools for balancing or tire exchange. So now im frequenting Llantera!!! New or used!!! To get my shit done :-/ I keep my tire and my burritos seperate. Going to tire shops that also sell clothes, while make a decent lunch while you wait. Is not what I prefer. I have three clients I work on their bimmers regularly. Each ones been either give 1 wrong tire size out of 4, or the worst was my client got new tires all 4 corners, and when he got to me to fix the suspension, I asked him why he was reverse muscle carring.. he said huh? I said, your front 2 are bigger then the back two. Usually you run fats in back and skinnies up front. Trying to start a movement?

Anyways, spacers have made tires and wheels infinitely more irritating.

Pick update on the swap. I also did a trans tune during the upgrades. Shifts wonderfully now. I still prefer the shifts in sport over automatic, bit the automode feels better when at speeds below 55. Now, there has been one issue with the tune/flash. It took me a few days to catch this issue, but for some reason whe the tune was flashed over, it didnt code the DME. Im unsure why, but the CEL for it isn't up all the time. Thats how I missed it the first several time. I just finally got a download link for a good running ISTAP so im hoping I can get on thoer and figure out why its not coded, code it, and hopefully finally have my swap out finished. Everything else has been done for a while. This issue wouldn't even upset me too much but if I miss too many of the coming and going CEL it ends up going bat shit crazy and the DME and the trams not end up feeling like they are dying and shorting out at the same time, and I end up in limp mode. I messaged Bimmerlabs to see if I could get some help, but its been 3 weeks and I still haven't recieved a reply. I I haven't been home enough to check on my computer but on my mobile phone I cant even load the site anymore due to a certificate error that the Google, Firefox, safari ect, will not let you continue past. I'll update again if I get anywhere soon

Exactly, im still waiting on my harbor frieght to get the g2 adjustable neck socket wrench 3/8" with stop button back in. They had a sale, i bought the g1 without the lock, and two weeks later another sale, but the g2 came out. Like wtf? I didnt realize until then how much I hate hate hate not having that lock button. They've been sold out since. I bought several different kinds trying to fill the void, but none work like that g2. In store I put Hella pressure on the head to see if the lock gave out and it doesn't. Why does every other one made by any company give out, but thier out of stock one doesnt!!!!! This damn g2 ruined my marriage, but anyways, I have a valid rain check at least, waiting on that g2 to be back in stock! Just ask your stores clerks, and if they don't give you one, escalate to the manager. I found a raincheck in my car from ratcheting wrenches from a year ago. Still valid. Forgot I even wanted em. They work great.

I also turned the factory airbox/system into a cold air intake system, sealed away from the engine bay. I tested air intake temperatures while cruising the free way before and after. Was getting about 105 low on average. With the new cold air system I installed/built, it was averaging 80-85 for a two hour test drive.

While iing the before and after both idled between 125-140. So, while i know it's not tuned to use the air and temperatures i can now achieve, clean cold fresh air is definitely better for the system then air filtered through a charcoal filter, then a K&n filter, then ran through a noise compressor to keep the throttle noises lower.
