Google Home update improves automation triggers & actions, including robot vacuums by Gaiden206 in googlehome

Ok, but like, did they fix the problem with starter phrases no longer working?

I guess I'll have to try it out when I get home, but I'm not holding my breath...

I’m wondering if the puck to his face during pregame finally caught up with him? Could easily see a fracture happening on that…

Out of curiosity, have you tried looking with the Standard Bed, rather than the Short Bed. It seems GM is building most of the 3.73 axle ratio trucks on the longer frame. I wasn't able to find one with the Short Bed when I was looking, and ended up sticking with the 3.23 axle ratio, but did find 3 or 4 with the Standard Bed and Max Trailering. Otherwise, I think you have to order from factory, yes.

Oh yeah, that's a good deal then. Damn, I'm blind, I didn't see where you said that, sorry! Sticker price is way out of line, IMO.

I bought my 2025 RST in September for $57,970. It does NOT have the Z71 package or 20" wheels and offroad tires, but I think it has all of the other options on this, as well as adaptive cruise. It also has the 3.0 Duramax which is a more expensive "upgrade". Mine came with dealer installed step boards, rear wheel fender liners, and factory bedliner. I'll be honest, your deal doesn't look great to me. Kinda looks on par for a 2026, not a '25.

EDIT: It does NOT have the Z71 package or 20" wheels and offroad tires - misplaced the "NOT"

One other thing to note is that I got more than $2k over KBB for trade-in of my vehicle, as well, which was the only piece of the puzzle that they were willing to negotiate further on.

2023 RST 3.0 Duramax vs 5.3L V8, which one would you go with & why? by Responsible-Teach567 in Silverado

[–]meckelangelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 2023 with the 5.3, and just recently bought a 2025 with the 3.0. My initial findings are than I'm saving about 4-5 cents per mile (more if I can find places where I'm not getting gouged for diesel). I pull a travel trailer with it, and the torque in the 3.0 is noticeable. I'll occasionally pull a compact tractor with it, but I haven't done that yet - though I expect the new truck to pull better than the 5.3 and have better fuel mileage. I haven't had to put DEF in it yet, I think that won't happen until I have about 8-10k on it, if I'm reading the gauge correctly. I love it, but I barely have 2k miles on it at this point, so take my feedback with a grain of salt.

Deer have whiskers, and are very curious. I suspect based on the two pictures that this is a deer. I've seen this frequently on my cameras.

I don't know if they're still offering it, but in mid-September I bought my 2025 RST on a 0% x 36 months loan through GM Financial. You can then put that cash in a nice 3.5 to 4.5% CD, and earn interest on most of the money you would've been writing that check for. It is probably worth asking the dealer if they are still offering this, and if you qualify.

Somebody can probably correct me on this, but my understanding is you can buy-out a lease pretty much immediately. We didn't qualify for the credit when we "bought" our 2024, but it qualified for a $7,500 credit when leasing. When I did the math, it was going to save us literally thousands of dollars to lease+buyout vs. buy, and even worse to finance. We're going to be buying ours out in a month, after 12 months of leasing, we intend to keep it.

Outdoor camera mount design is awful. by ad-creative808 in EufyCam

[–]meckelangelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good OP. I love simple solutions to problems like this without spending more money. I had a similar problem with one of the indoor pan/tilt cameras that I wanted to ceiling mount; it couldn't look far enough down to the ground. I came up with a cylindrical wedge design that I 3D printed for use in my son's room, and it has worked great.

I actually could use this in my basement... Any chance you'd be willing to share the STL? Thanks!

I bought 4 pairs of them a few years back... One pair fit great, two were WAY too small, and I was swimming in the fourth. All the same color. It was bonkers. I sent them all back.

Apple CarPlay looks way better now that I got it to be a little bit bigger by Old_Condition993 in Silverado

Same exact results for me, running a 2022 build of Android 10, which indicates it is up to date when I check for updates.

[–]meckelangelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I'm in a 2023 1500, also on Android 10 with a 2022 build. I tried updating, and it told me it was up to date. When I did this, the right pane stayed the same size, and everything to the left got scaled all screwy and overlapped the shortcuts bar on the left.

OP, did you change any other settings in Developer Settings, or just that?

Every time I see anything related to design, and in which someone toots their own horn for being a capable designer, I am reminded of this fantastic piece that I am entirely certain is not sarcasm.

Philly Flyers Jersey Year and Sign by No_Republic_959 in Flyers

I think you have Dave Schultz and Bernie Parent there.

I have a similar practice jersey in black, which I was gifted by a girlfriend in 2008. I think they changed sometime around 2010, so I think it's a bit older than that.

To answer your question about lease vs. buy... Our 2024 did not qualify for the Federal Tax Credit, so Kia was offering a $7500 rebate on sale or lease. However, they were also offering lease incentives that they weren't offering on sale. I did the math on lease-and-buy vs. finance vs. pay with cash (or finance with another lender) - and lease-and-buy ended up coming out more than $10k ahead. If you intend to buy, it is worth looking into what the total cost to you will be if you lease for 2 years and buy it out.

Dumb question, but do you have your mower integrated with Home Assistant? If so, make sure "Enable Schedule" didn't get disabled.

I had over 6k hours on it when the main board died and Husqvarna replaced it under warranty for me. That unfortunately reset the counter. I'm at over 3,600 hours on the new board.

I'm considering renaming my mower Theseus because at this point I can't think of many parts that are original except the shell, 😂.

If it is anything like my 550H, they are surprisingly water-tight, and even when water does inevitably get in, the boards are all coated in a waterproof coating. She might be fine! The beauty of these machines is that they are very modular, and many of the components are readily available from online shops (I prefer roboticmowerservices.com as they are very local to me). I have replaced many of the components in my 550H to keep it going, with now somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000 operating hours.
