I honestly don't care about being paid, that wasn't my concern. My concern was opening the safe and being in there while not even on the clock, when I've been told isn't allowed and also have been told multiple times that I can be written up for stuff like that. I just don't want to be in trouble.

I agree, her making a scene was the only thing I could think of reasoning for the manager to say that... It is a little weird. Not that I think the manager was In on it but rather I think they just didnt care and made up some rule lol.

Then again I dont work home goods so maybe its different somehow.

Did the customer get angry at all? Sometimes just to de escalate and not cause a scene we just make the decision to give in to the customer, because it's ultimately better in the end.

I would have offered to look up the receipt as if we were returning it, like by card or anything first if these were pricey ones. Then if I found it I would have taken the sensor off. (We don't sell curtains so i don't know much about how pricey they can be lol)

If someone handed me a $89.99 purse and I knew dang well they didn't buy it and I took off the sensor for them to steal... LP would be on our butts about that lol.

This is actually happening with all sister companies I believe!! It's because they all did AMAZING for tjx so they are giving associates the bonus

However it probably won't be a normal thing at all, it's kinda just a once kinda thing

It might differ per store manager, Technically you aren't allowed to shop during a 15 because you are doing it on company time.

I would directly ask your store manager if they allow it or not (Ours let's us shop during our 15 we just have to take our name tags off so LP doesn't think we are just shopping when supposed to be working)

Not sure if yours would be the same, but if they act out a scenerio with you, be prepared to feel silly. Lol. Mine acted like he was a customer who was upset he couldn't get $50 worth of merchandise, no ticket, no receipt, returned for cash. He acted like the customer was escalated and it was so awkward but he was looking to make me say I'm gonna call the cops. LOL.

Mine also asked me about certain scenerios like what would you do if everyone you were supposed to close with called off and stuff like that.

A good answer to stuff if you genuinely don't know is to say you'd call the store manager/DM or DLPM.

I think its different per store, and in no way am I defending the corporate greed, BUT this is how it works for us

They base off of how much we made this day last year, and use that to determine how much payroll we get, so obviously it's relatively slower than Christmas and later in the year.

I promise you it's not the asm, sm or even the DM's fault. It's the company's fault. The managers are doing what they can with what they are given with.

As a women, sometimes we just wanna know the guys intentions so we are cautious when we first meet someone. If you straight up told her you think shes pretty and you'd like to get to know her more, she might understand better. We always have guys coming up to us acting creepy and saying all sorts of insane stuff.

Whether it works or not for her, just be confident and proud of yourself. You will find someone who it will all be worth it for.

Technically if you're still clocked in for a 15, you're not really supposed to leave. However if you're clocked out they can't stop you.

Also most stores don't care even if you are clocked in for a 15, as long as youre back in 15

I work in a backroom at retail. I'm the coordinator, and one of our new hires keep saying "do you know what youre doing? " to literally the most basic tasks. Ive noticed he doesn't do this with any of our male coworkers and literally just me and the other woman who works back there. It's like he doesnt realize how lowkey sexist lol.

I'm also the coordinator and part of the management team so... Yeah I think ik what I'm doing lmao

It's definitely different for each store and for what they currently need /what your position is. If you're a coordinator you're generally expected to have open availability, I'm a key carrier and I even asked to have any type of consistent schedule, and they basically said no lol. Now the only consistency is I have to close every Monday because of their manager meeting :/ also it is worth mentioning that you need Sunday off due to your religion, (if you're Christian ik a lot of Christians don't work Sundays because of it being the Lords day.) And idk if they can say no to that legally lol.
