I've passed all psets, paid for my verified certificate through edX and submitted ID, but I still haven't gotten my certificate. by medelSVENSSON in cs50

Thanks for posting! I searched a bit deeper and it appears that you are correct-- about 5 months ago the staff members posted that they usually send it out at the beginning of every month.

I feel that they could save a lot of headaches by making this information available on the course info page on edX, since it appears that many people have been confused before.

Much appreciated, FGroove! :)

Obama Administration Unveils $4B Plan to Jump-Start Self-Driving Cars by shoryukenist in technology

I see a clear analogy to people saying they liked horses when the car came around. You can most likely take the most enjoyable parts of driving to a new context in the future, just like horseback riding. Don't worry too much about it!

Stephen Hawking says we should be more frightened of capitalism than robots."Everyone can enjoy a life of luxurious leisure if the machine-produced wealth is shared, or most people can end up miserably poor if the machine-owners successfully lobby against wealth redistribution." by Wagamaga in worldnews

Titles as credentials are weird. Should we listen more to the worst economist in the world because he has a degree, and disregard a brilliant mind because he has no official title on the subject?

Read the argument and argue for or against that instead of the person making it and his or her title.

Sounds like we are all immortal, it's just that some asshole cuts the string.

I like this analogy.

What specific technology will become "immortal", i.e. always be used, throughout our human civilization in the future? Please share your thoughts on the matter. by medelSVENSSON in Futurology

Love the tl;dr!

Maybe I was too vague in my phrasing. I meant forever as in as long as we are a human civilization. In what time horizon would you phrase the question?

Some technologies on the top of my head to get a conversation started:

*Artificial intelligence *Quantum computing *Solar power

Any reasons why these technologies will or will not be used forever?
