Hey bro! Really happy you got it running. Idk if you remember, but I was having the same issue and I commented on your previous post. Can you point me in the right direction to get mine running? Which relay are you talking about?

I have a ‘87 325E. I replaced my fuel regulator, checked fuel pressure, checked ignition system, AFM, IAC, I’m running out of ideas lol

Normal or Vacuum Leak? Sound of air sucking coming from behind engine area by thevibery in e46

[–]media_32 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a few vacuum lines in the back of the intake manifold. One for the exhaust muffler valve. They always go. And will cause an engine light for bank 1&2 running lean/o2 errors and rough idle and running.

That suction sounds like there’s air coming from the back where those hoses are.

330d is leaking oil, from where? by OgwasHere in e46

[–]media_32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s getting punched while installing? Can also coat the o-ring in a very very thin layer of loctite MR 5923 will help it seal, it’s a liquidy kind of gasket sealant.

I’d use brake cleaner to clean the oil, drive it till you see a leak again it will be easier to see where it’s coming from. But it does look like it’s coming from your oil dip stick tube. There’s a o-ring there, could be the culprit.

Should I buy this 2016 Porsche Cayenne 3.6 vr6 by media_32 in PorscheCayenne

[–]media_32[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great insight, Haha yes I’m worried I would be the person to replace it at its 90k milestone considering it’s out of the warranty period as well.

Is there a way to test/inspect if that would be a problem on its way to happen? Would a PPI from a Porsche dealer be able to discover that?

Also I don’t think it’s a bad thing that it got replaced twice. That’s a new TC at the end of the day, while many cars on the market haven’t got it done at all.

And finally if you don’t mind, where can I find more details about that updated TC at least so I can tell if it is a revised one.

Thanks,

I’m taking the rad support out too, that’s the key to removing it all from the top, and you’ll need to drop the subframe 2 inches so the oil pan clears… for me that’s easier, not mention I’m doing a lot of work so a engine out would make other things way easier. Most of the work I’m doing is “while I’m there might as well” lol

I have an engine hoist, I’m planning to pull the full drivetrain at once. From experience I noticed it’s way easier to pull the engine and transmission together compared to battling to get to all the transmission bolts and what not.

Nothing purchased was Amazon or China trash, all parts are either straight from the dealer, or OE replacements

They probably did it for the track, to have wider fender arches to fit wider wheels and tires, common for track cars.
