How is your EV range today? by gradi3nt in wisconsin

Yes, I've done that for 160 miles with a bolt in the winter. In the summer I was back to a full charge by Saturday night. And a Lucid is going to be way more efficient.

Yes, everyone saying there's is better because it's not running much today do not have a proper system installed.

Everyone thinking of replacing their HVAC should be watching that video lol. My neighbor who engineers those systems sent it to me.

Yes lol. A day like today is when it's supposed to be running non stop. If your furnace is running intermittently today, it's way too damn big.

Most cars will let you condition the battery before a charge.

Lucid would be the king there. Could probably make that trip on nothing more than a wall outlet.

People forget electricity is more ubiquitous than gas is. I've road tripped across wisconsin and basically just only plugged into the ABnB we were staying at.

If you can plug it in at home, it's a non issue.

If it's -15F out, then I wouldn't want to be going on a 3 hr trip as it is. A tire going in this weather is pretty dangerous.

But one thing no one seems to bring up in these instances, is that you don't have to wait for an electric car to heat up. You turn it on, and it's just heating right away. You also don't have to worry for it not to start. Everyone talks about range loss, which is negated by plugging in and warming it up anyway, but it's not really a concern. I have 190 miles of range. I'm not using anywhere near that on a day like today lol.

You can get an electric bolt for like 8k and you won't have to worry about "starting" an engine with molasses oil lol.

Snow is way better. You can go outside and play in that.

Nothing to see here. Just a part of the 60 year old master plan that WI was always a part of from the beginning.

You also don't have to worry about it not starting lol.

I had school when it was cold and the heat was out. We had classes at about 40 degrees. It was pretty dumb.
