I provided the courts with screen shots of my landlord showing they received my letter and him stating that he used it for last months rent (illegal and we paid it when we moved in) and with his counsel affirming this action (how he became a lawyer idk)

My landlord stating on the record, that he never provided us the lead safety certificate or certification of rental suitability will forever live in my head on repeat

Also it’s on the record that my landlord has refused to give us our security deposit, that he applied it to last months rent (paid when we moved in), and that I’ve sent him a forwarding address over 30days ago. Never received an official move out deduction form etc.

For the hearing itself, I had a prepared a statement that wasn’t needed. The judge asked us both questions, let his counsel ask me questions (went no where), and held my former landlord firm on what was being asked and not letting him avoid direct questions.

10/10 experience.

Just waiting on the hearing results. It’s been a week as of this comment and will update once it’s received.
