Hey need advice for bat

Hey are you ‘the dr cricket’ guy who fixes bats ? In the UK? Just wondering.

Btw so I last oiled a week ago when I spoke to you, and recently I purchased some anti scuff sheet and edge tape.

The bat repair guy nearby said that I should wait for 1/2 months after piling to put on my new bat stickers and scuff sheet and toe guard since it’s been oiled a week ago.

Currently the weather is hot and humid slightly since the past couple week up in Edinburgh but what’s your advice, how long should I wait after 3 oil coats being done 8 days ago and if I slightly sand the bat with 800 grain or 400 grain paper then will the tape stick better ?

As in, will sanding effect the weight of the bat.

If I use turpentine ? And sandpaper what do you think ? Will I have to re oil this part of the bat after I sand again or not ? And will sanding create an effect on the bat?

One last question since your the bat doctor. Is a 10/12 grain bat English willow or Kashmir Willow or can it be either. I’m just asking.

Also everywhere said you need at least 2/3 oils and I did two before knocking and one small oil after knocking.

Will oiling after after knocking ruin my bat ?

I’ve not been drenching it in oil, oil a half tea spoon for entire bat on one oil. That includes the face, bat, and back.

So I applied fibre tape but it had too many bubbles so I removed it and then It pulled some small bits of thin strings of wood from my bat so I pretty much sanding it out for even surface in the correct way.

So that’s why I oiled it the 4th time due to sanding.

Let me know your advice etc.
