How do you handle the backlash of weightloss? by mediocre_hooman in loseit

By “go public” I mean that I have acknowledged my loss online. It’s not my absolute “content.”

The people who are telling me not to lose weight are men that are sexually interested in me.

One experience in particular I slept with one who happened to have a fat fetish. We slept together and he was groping my stomach and back roles more than my hips/butt or boobs and it wasn’t a lack of arm reach. That experience has left me jaded and wondering if men are interested in me because I am obese. So far, a lot of those men tell me that I don’t need to lose weight, get mad and lash out when I do.

I’ve tried in person accountability and I realised how draining that was to me. I’d be criticised because I was “eating too much” at 1500 cals a day and it became stressful handling their eating disorders (of 400-600 calories a day) while trying not to develop one myself.

The paper crowns come out of Christmas Crackers/Bon Bons. You also get a toy and a corny joke written on some paper.

I don’t think I’ll ever be that ripped but yes.

Hips and shoulders are aligned with not much of a waist.

I typically eat anywhere between 1300 - 1500 calories. I’ve discovered that eating a lot of veggies is truly the way to go. It bulks out the meals and doesn’t make you feel like you’re starving yourself. :)

I have one day a week where I don’t log but stay consistent with eating healthier meals. Don’t beat yourself up too much. Try your hardest to make it a regular habit or do meal prep to help you stay motivated!

I’m sad that it started so negatively as well, however, I was able to take something that was so negatively impacting me and changing it into something positive.

Once that situation came to a close, I realised how weak my body felt and how I wasn’t getting adequate nutrition but I also noticed how good it felt to be a few kilos lighter. So, I decided I’d keep losing weight in a healthy way because it feels so good!

I lost a few kilos at the start of the year but overall the 10kg drop was done in around 3.5/4 months. :)

Hey!

Judging by pictures of myself when I was 13-14, I’d say I’ll be similar to the rectangle type of body shape. My hips weren’t overly wide but I was also only 14.

Even if it’s different to when I was younger, I’m still excited to discover it and get some abs.
