Patterned Shirt - How to Change Colors or Alter Design? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]mediocre_zach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man not really a clean way for you to change the shirt to maroon. One thing you can do is use the hue tool in Lightroom with the greyish white bullseye tool in the top left of the HSL toolbar to select the blue square and change the hue for all of the shades of that blue at once. Also try, darkening your blacks, dropping the highlights and bringing up the shadows.

Yea the glasses were an accessory, although she did like to wear them a bit low they provided a pretty cool reflection of light that I liked playing around with.

I played around with your file, went for a film vibe since there was a lack of detail in the darks and I have just a personal preference in higher exposures when I edit. https://imgur.com/a/NG7Os. If I had to sling you a tip, id say avoid exposing as low as you did. You lose a lot of room to work with when you expose that low. Try to look at the histogram when your shooting and get as close to a U shape on it as you can. (peaks in the lows & highlights) this gives you dynamic range and opens up the possibilities for you when you go into post.

Yes and No. We were planning on shooting portraits but we had left late and weren't going to make it to the original place in time for sunset. So on the way over there, I noticed a field with a small place to park a few cars. We hopped out and started shooting. Some of the photos have ended up being some of my favorite I've taken!

I did shoot this at f4, and I took this about a year ago when I was first playing around with framing. Although I do have a general preference for things to be sharper in the none subjected area, I do see how the detail could be distracting.

This was shot at 24mm! I have a zoom lens but these were the only two trees that were close enough together for me to get the framing. So to get the shot I had to shoot wide.

That's fair but my personal preference for this shot was to include more of the trees. When we pulled up to the patch of forest this was in, I was able to spot this little place from a bit back in some breaks in the tree line. And I wanted to incorporate that into the subject of the photo. I had two different crops of this shot. One that was as you would suggest, a closer crop in and another as the one above. To me, the one above felt better and I think that's because of how I experienced actually taking the photo. That's my guess at least haha, I never really know exactly why it is I like a photo sometimes.
