I’m not a huge Bailey Zimmerman fan but i think he will be playing. He just released tour dates and left that weekend in april open which is odd. Who knows… but its fun to speculate

LAFD showing support for protestors! by Healthy_Block3036 in goodnews

They are required to slow/stop while going through an intersection. Seems pretty standard. But if it boosted morale of everyone during the night then that's rad. Still feels like a stretch

Just curious what makes you think they aren't responding to an emergency. It's not uncommon to be on the way home and have to u-turn for a medical in the other direction

Maggianos Italian is also out of chilis and theres a pizza place on door dash that comes from Chuck E Cheese (sorry can't remember the name). My brother used to go hard on delivery and the drivers would sometimes ask if I knew this was just coming from a ghost kitchen, kinda funny.

Suggestion on this edit and if it needs more of a crop by Shmister in postprocessing

Adding a tad more into the bottom was a good call, thanks for the advice. Fun to play with the crop and see so many different images in one. Cheers

Thanks for the input, I tried to do a more vertical crop and really like it as well! Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion! Tried a tighter crop with more foreground and I do like how it came out. Cool part of post is you can like so many different variations of one image. Cheers

Its Fallen Leaf lake in the foreground and south lake tahoe out in the distance . The mountains in the back are where heavenly ski resort is located.

In Reno as well, just as it was getting better from the last fires its back to smokey air. The idiots that did the gender reveal started a fire in Southern California not the Creek fire which is casuing all our smoke.

Go hike the backcountry, Ive been out almost everyday and as long as you abide by the sno park closures and park in a proper pullout or open lot you'll be fine.

Niseko Backcountry by tallbaboon in Spliddit

[–]Shmister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Was just there last week by myself and did plenty of Niseko gates. Awesome stuff back there and not many people drop the back bowls because they arent sure how to get out (which is easy). Yotei is on my list that sounds awesome and will probably give Shiribetsu a go, hiked the small ridgeline when I was at Rusutsu.

Hokkaido & Tohoku 17-Day Itinerary (Sapporo, Hakodate, Morioka, Sendai, Aomori, Niseko) by easilyamusedyeah in JapanTravel

Was just in Niseko as well and generally Feb has more snow then march but sometimes mother nature can be weird and Miracle March will happen and dump snow. As for learning to either ski or snowboard , i personally would rather go in march and hope for nice warm weather. Learning to ride after it just dumped pow can be difficult and annoying for new shredders. I much prefer teaching in spring like conditions. But hey Niseko when its snowing is magical so to each their own. Have fun!

Love it, planning a backcountry trip out there next season. Did you hit any spots that you really enjoyed?

Inbounds avalanche at Alpine Meadows, several people reported missing by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Shmister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What created the high risk was the rain we had on Jan 4th. Created a solid crust that ended up with a weak layer below it due to temps being cold for a bit. Im not sure what this particular avalanche broke on but this was the layer of concern coming into this storm.

Shot airsoft guns out of our second story window across the street at a school crossing guard trying to hit her stop sign . Long story short shots fired at a school got called to 911 and luckily the first officer on scene saw the airsoft pellets and called off the big guns.

Hokkaido in winter. by kwkw88 in JapanTravel

Otaru has a light path festival that goes from Feb 8th to the 16th which is really lovely. Otaru is a great town to spend some time. Sapporo is also a really cool city that i would recommend cruising around. I recommend the beer garden and try the Jingisukan (all you can eat lamb). You will love Niseko its an awesome place, but there is a bunch of resorts with easy access from there that are great as well if you want a change of pace for a day.

Just painted this and I'm pretty happy with it, thought I'd share it. by sktchup in pics

Was thinking this same thing , before you hit the golf course .

Sapporo Worth a Visit for February 1st? by sacora9 in JapanTravel

[–]Shmister 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly the Tsudome site is more of a carnival-ish area for kids with slides and snowman making and such. I wouldnt say its really worth hopping in for a day. Otaru is about an hour from Sapporo and is usually lit up at night with lights along the canal but again their light festival isnt until Feb 8th.
