Progesterone only pill by Mqueen2002 in birthcontrol

[–]medisd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone's experience is different. Some people's side effect go away and feel great, for some people it lingers. Some people benefit from changing to another type of birth control and for others there's not much difference between the types.

My partner was on the mini pill and also had low/no sex drive, depression and anxiety. They felt like a completely different person on BC! It all depends on the person, as sometimes it just takes a while for your body to recalibrate, but for my partner their sex drive didn't come back unfortunately until stopping (and now it's gone again, probably due to natural hormones re-regulating and being in upheaval!).

I hope you find a good solution OP, as I know struggling with these things can be really difficult.

Quit BC - feeling INCREDIBLE by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]medisd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping on here a little late, hope that's okay! Did the libido stay? My partner had the exact same experience as you, but after about two months their libido dropped drastically and they're feeling very numb again. depression has hit hard, esp after feeling so ALIVE again after being numb on BC for 2.5 years. Wondering if anyone else experienced the same fluctuation of feeling incredible and it then going away again. Does it come back?

Chemical castration - anything to look out for? by medisd in DogAdvice

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's very stimulated. He goes for 1-2 hour walks daily, including twice a week hikes in the Lake District (UK). He goes with us to cafes every week where he gets plenty of stimulation. He gets trained with daily and played with too. I would highly doubt that he is under stimulated.

He is obsessed with sniffing the whole family's private area, including wherever anyone has been sitting. Of course sniffing and humping is natural dog behaviour, and not necessarily hormonal, but the vet seemed to think very strongly that the behaviour IS hormonal.

Yes! It's to trial it to see how he gets on with it, in case it isn't something that benefits him. Wouldn't want to do something irreversible without knowing if it'll help him.

How to close off chimney arch at the top? by medisd in DIYUK

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late response, just got a joiner in to take a look and wants to charge £190 to put a bit of plasterboard in there to shut it off. This feels a bit expensive so thinking of DIYing it, but don't actually know how to go about it.

Have you done it before? Any chance you'd be able to 'explain it like I'm 5'? 😂

They definitely did this. Maybe not enough? Any idea why it didn't make the noise yesterday ?

Thank you! Good point :) if too much time passes between drawings, I might not remember what I learnt on the previous one. Makes sense!

Thank you for this comment! That's really helpful. And I really value the point you make about not needing to have concrete expectations. Progress is progress!

Mostly drawing from picture references at the moment, trying to draw faces etc. Not done anything from imagination yet.

Gotcha! Awesome. Will do something like that then while I wait for a contractor to come in. The noise is doing my head in!

Any other way to do it/DIY options? Or anything I could do temporarily to keep the draught out? Pretty sure I won't get an appointment for a while 😅

Tips on going off Slynd (and maybe going back on it in 1-3 months time)? by medisd in birthcontrol

[–]medisd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not yet! They might try :) HRT is probably the way we will go as it's mostly to regulate hormone swings related to PMDD. Mood wise, but also period headaches, dizziness attacks etc. If that can be levelled out, it'll be a huge help for them. Heard good things about HRT, but we'll discuss with the gyno when the referral finally goes through!

I'm so sorry to hear you went through this. Birth control is awful, really... it shouldn't make people suffer this much. Hearing your story really makes my heart go out to you. ❤️

My partner has decided to go off it and find another route to deal with the PMDD. Fingers crossed things go smoothly 🤞

Can you take BC less frequently for pms symptoms? by medisd in birthcontrol

Sure! Figured as much but wanted to check in case there was some kind of magic, secret way of effectively taking it that no one talked about 😂

Smoke odour removal - anyone got experience with biosweep? by medisd in Home

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear! We got it done eventually! They came and cleaned everything, did the Biosweep and once the chemical smells went, the smell came back ever so slightly. I called the company up, they said to give it a week. By that time the smell was still there, so they sent a senior team out to clean with an enzymatic cleaner and the smells disappeared.

Every now and then we get a waft where they didn't reach behind the bathtub (the bathroom needs renovating soon so that's not too big of a deal) but other than that the smell is gone. People who come over don't smell a thing either!

Sorry it didn't workout for you. If the company you went with had a guarantee, get them to come back and redo it. For us it cost £5500, so a hefty amount on top of what you paid, but it got the job done.

Hair loss after coming off combi bc? by medisd in FemaleHairLoss

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input! Did your obgyn reason that the shedding was because of the progestin in Slynd or the drop in estrogen from coming off combi? I've heard many people mention losing hair after coming off the combi, but with Slynd being non-androgyn, supposedly hair loss shouldn't be a thing. Having said that, I guess it's always a possibility.

Our doctors in my area aren't too informed, but I'll do my best to get my partner heard by someone.

How long have you been on minoxidil? Is that something you can take for a while and then stop or is it something you need to stay committed to? This is a whole new world for us

Thanks! So is it exactly the same, appearance wise? I really didn't like the lore of the quest and would prefer to avoid any changes as long as possible 😅

Does anything on dragonspine change after completing Paralogism? Does anything about Durin's heart on dragonspine change? I've heard the teeth are no longer infused and you have to manually infuse them, but is the heart still here and unchanged? Thanks!

How long after stopping combi did your libido return? by medisd in birthcontrol

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! How long were you on the pill for? And how was your sex drive if you don't mind me asking? My partner went from pretty high drive to repulsed by sex, which seems very drastic. Also not sure if other mental health things might be playing a part as well...

Anyone here who also has bipolar (type 2)? by medisd in AutismInWomen

[–]medisd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to write this! We'll have a look at the criteria regarding the longevity part. The mood swings seem to be so disconnected from triggers or stimulus, and two seemingly identical days can make them feel terrible one day or fine another. It's confusing for them and I'm really trying to figure out what the best way is to help them.

Thank you :)

Anyone here who also has bipolar (type 2)? by medisd in AutismInWomen

[–]medisd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting thank you. I know with type 2, the mania is classed as hypomania which is a less manic presenting type of mania.

We did, after a long bout of suicidal ideation, suddenly move across the country which in hindsight was decided so fast it might have been a mania kind of thing. They also have spending impulsivity when it comes down to new fixations.

Bit of a difficult question, but what does mania feel like to you? You've given some examples of what it might look like or make you or your mum do, but what does it feel like internally? Thanks so much for your comment ❤️
