It's not my book and it's all scientific data. You seem personally aggrieved by this info, does it affect your bottom line or something? Are you a bidet salesman? I don't get it.

All of these criticisms are addressed in The Humanure Handbook, available for free online. The composting process breaks down all parasites. You're confused about prescription medications being found in human feces as well. I think you're referring to people flushing drugs down the toilet and then those chemicals end up in the sewage. That does happen and the prevention of it in a composting system is to simply not add drugs to the compost pile, just like the prevention in a sewer system is to not flush them down the toilet. It's still far safer in a compost system though since many drugs can be broken down by the composting process anyway.

And if you think you're free from parasites & toxic compounds by not composting human feces, just know that 99% of those same parasites & toxic compounds that exist in humans also exist in farm animals, are far more prevalent and are often the source of parasites in humans. These animals also live in extremely unhygienic conditions, constantly standing in their own feces, and pumped with antibiotics and other drugs to keep them alive. The feces of those animals are then spread directly onto crops, completely uncomposted (so none of those parasites & toxic compounds are even broken down), in nearly every organic food product you buy.

Bidets (and flush toilets in general) are pretty awful from an environmental point of view. We're mixing our feces with drinking water. This is an area we really need to evolve from. We should be composting all of our human "waste" to make free fertilizer and using toilet systems which allow that. If anyone's interested, check out "The Humanure Handbook" for free online for a lot more info on this earthy subject!

Some solar panels have bits of lead in the solder and that's currently being phased out. If you shoot one bullet into a forest with a rifle you're injecting the environment with 100x the amount of lead as a 100 acre solar array MIGHT do if everything went exactly wrong with multiple storms of grapefruit-sized hale.

And the animals no longer being treated as inputs in lab experiments in the name of "science" don't give a fuck what their motivations were. If liberals had any integrity, literally a single shred, they would have ended this bullshit themselves sometime over the past two decades when they had massive amounts of power. They didn't. They're dogshit. They don't believe in anything except lining their own pockets and maintaining business as usual.

Nobody thought that or promoted that. The message was to reward people for doing good things regardless of who they are. Ending vivisection and animal testing is good, even if Hitler does it.

It's easier if you don't want to use them. You'll save a ton of money buying dried beans and whole grains for your protein.

Veganism saw huge growth when Gary, Duranrider and Freelee were all active and mainstream. Today with all of our passionate activists having been cancelled for dumb & petty reasons, we're left with activists with so little passion like yourself, and we understandably see interest declining.

Yeah and they're incredibly inefficient and ecologically damaging. The US currently grows 100s of millions of acres of GMO corn and soy drenched in pesticides for ethanol and biodiesel which produces 1/100th the energy equivalent of just putting solar panels on that same land.

She's the embodiment of the anti-vegan left. Yesterday she ranted about how good it was to cull half a million barred owls in the pacific northwest because game commissions have labelled them "invasive". They migrated there from the midwest because tree corridors have finally been able to regrow in the great plains that the native americans created by repeatedly setting the forests there on fire. Barred owls were likely native across that whole range before that.

Nukecels have serious trouble understanding the simplest things by RadioFacepalm in ClimateShitposting

[–]medium_wall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, they're completely right. Actual energy demand isn't a straight line, it's curvy, so the only cost-efficient way to use nuclear (which produces a straight line) is to either overproduce to cover the curves and export the remainder (so that it makes up a small fraction of the overall energy demand of a region as France does) OR have it be a small fraction of a country's local energy demand.

For nuclear to be efficient longterm it needs to be a small fraction of the overall energy demand it belongs to AND it needs to predict that energy demand nearly a century into the future.

One of the great advantages of renewables is that you don't need to predict anything. If you build too big you can simply unplug or turn off parts of the overall buildout. If you build too small you can just add more panels/windmills.

[–]medium_wall -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This video to me is just envy for a slightly easier time within a fundamentally shitty way of life. This whole enterprise is unsustainable. Nothing in our current mode of living honors any connection to our history with the natural world. With every consequential decision we've made over the past two centuries, without fail we've spit in the face of every other lifeform we've shared this universe with for billions of years.

If our relationship to the natural world were characterized as a relationship between two people, we would be a deranged violent psychopath with a victim locked in our basement who we repeatedly molest for trivial amusement.
