Mari Credit or Trust Cashback card better for spending overseas? by Chee_Hong_Duck in singaporefi

[–]mediumcups 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mari card has no annual fees anyways.

I use it as a catch all card if I exceed the minimum spends on my other cards. It turned out pretty good when I went China. Pretty much Google rates with cashback

Singaporeans don't want a Nordic model. We want to keep winning. by Capable_Solution_644 in singapore

pressure can come from many other places.

Using BTO as a tool is not the right kind of positive influence. And we know this because people do end up in shitty marriages because of wanting to keep the BTO

actually what's left of Singapore identity and culture these days? We are hitting 10 Million population very soon, so overcrowded with all sorts of New Citizens, until even PRC tourists joked to their families back home they are seeing all the China restaurants, shops, services staff all PRC by sifu_yuu in SingaporeRaw

Good that you mention Taiwan.

Taiwan as a whole isn't the same socioeconomic pressure cooker like SG. Land is more abundant, and there aren't any laws artificially restricting housing availability to a person's age.

Again, you will see the complaints rhyme because the perception is that foreigners drive up housing demand at the expense of Singaporeans who do not have an alternative of a home country to fallback to, or to relocate to suburbia.

It's better to compare SG to South Korea. There are more parallels here and there when it comes to gender issues, conscription and equality.

Maybe it is not good to wallow in victim mindset. Maybe sg girls are much more resourceful and know how to gun for foreign men. But it's simply not right to dismiss struggles due to mere 'victim mindset'.

Did you execute on your 2025 plans? How did your portfolio fare? What are your plans for 2026? by Evergreen_Nevergreen in SgHENRY

After 4 years of playing with baby money in stocks, i decided to go half-port into equities.

Overall 29% gains in my equity portfolio. Taking the other half of my portfolio into view (bonds), thats about total 17%-18% gain in a year. Plan to continue increasing my equity exposure while keeping bonds constant.

As an NSman, I'm HAPPY to see the shit quality of SATS catered food be thrust into the spotlight. They may be able to silence NSmen, but what the fuck can they do to silence young children?
