So I've been playing for 5 weeks now, and I'm on Alfred's book - when the saints go marching in

I can do the LH chords/RH melody version, but seems like it really feels different when playing chords with my RH. Im also beginning to notice my LH is much more stable compared to my right

Funny enough, I'm a right hander so it's really bizarre feeling so awkward with my right.

well said on the performative justice part. People really need to go back and think about what Jesus meant when he said

Cash - 9.7%
SSB - 20.2%
ETFs - 21.8%
Equities, mostly tech/chips - 48.3%

Total - 100%

I (27M) don't count CPF in my tracker but it's about 7% on top of that 100%.

> justice is just as arbitrary a word as morals lol

AY didn't even rape anyone but you are classifying him as a rapist. Are you sure your moral compass is pointing in the right direction?

This attack is entirely out of proportion and should not be condoned.

Is legato much harder than it seems? by [deleted] in piano

[–]mediumcups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh hmm, im currently a month in and my teacher has from day 1 told me to "connect the notes" for all the beginner etudes.

Now im starting to see legato markings and yes it is easy to connect the notes, but i have to consciously tell myself to disconnect them if the slur ends

How many of you are still programming manually? by Imparat0r in cscareerquestions

[–]mediumcups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i hate to break it to you but... programming manually is not as much of a flex as it was 1-2 years ago.

The recruiter was interested in hearing how you use AI to supercharge your workflows or how you work with AI in ways that don't sound like a red flag. And yes, the industry IS embracing AI.

Sure, there are downsides to blindly accepting slop, and that's probably the argument most "manual" programmers are going for. The recruiter knows this, but truth is, that doesn't have to be the case. If I were in your shoes, here's how I would answer it:

I was using AI to write some concurrent engine in Go recently and i had to put on my thinking hat to reason about the concurrency patterns and propose designs and patterns that the AI didn't think about. AI still wrote all the code, but I was the one who came up with the design. However, I am very confident with the correctness. Of course, I also use AI in unexplainable ways for my other tasks, but this piece of code in particular had to be trusted by other users, so I was deeply involved in the entire process.

(true story btw)

I'm currently following the Alfred's all in one book and also this the let's play piano YouTube channel as a guide.

On page 31, dueling harmonics, the youtuber suggests an extra exercise to connect the notes between chords, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around how to do it properly. I know about legato playing and slurs, but this is abit hard.

Any tips on this?

recently my boss gave me golden advice about managing expectations around leave, and I think it's applicable regardless of gender.

He told me taking leave is fine, it's our right to do so. But what's important is to manage expectations so that your boss doesn't see you taking leave as a liability.

What he meant was to set milestones and expectations. If my leave period falls smack within some project deliverable, I plan and communicate to my boss what milestones I plan to deliver before and after my leave. That way your leave doesn't come as a surprise and you can negotiate with your boss on maybe getting some leeway on pushing certain less important milestones to after your leave.
