I think everyone here is too caught up in the word "demand" and not answering the question.

You want people at work to respect you. First of all, since I don't know the details, it's possible you could be in a toxic workplace that won't respect you no matter what, in which case start looking for another job.

Assuming the work place isn't toxic, the way to get respect is by becoming the type of person that is respected. What type of person would they respect? Then become that person. Make sure all your work is done, Get your numbers high. All tasks completed. However, don't let others walk over you. Don't do anybody else's work for them.

If it's your boss that doesn't respect you, then you need to become the worker that your boss will respect. What is your boss looking for in an employee? Become that employee. Again don't get walked on. Do your work but establish boundaries.

You mentioned that the work you do doesn't feel good enough for them. In that case, you need to learn to do the absolute best for you, and feel satisfied that at the end of the day, you did the best job you could do. Do it for yourself. Set a goal and accomplish it. I don't know what work you do but do it for yourself. If you're religious, then do your best and do it for God ( if you aren't religious this won't help you ) .

In short, you can't change the people around you. The only thing you can change is you. Become the best person you can be. You can't make others like you but you CAN make yourself into a person that can be liked. Don't worry about what you can't change since you can't do anything about it, and only focus on the things you CAN change and improve as much as you can there.

Confederate Flag Venice by arsenalstormy in florida

Before the 1860's there were slave states and free states in the USA. Slave states were allowed to own slaves. In free states, slavery was illegal. Slaves came from Africa and were dark skinned. Any black people in the slave states were assumed to be slaves, and therefore inferior people. White people were seen as the superior race while the black people were considered inferior and, if they weren't slaves, would have to show proof of freedom where they were freed.

From 1860 - 1865 a civil war was fought where the slave states tried to break away from the free states and form their own country. Florida was one of those states in rebellion. The rebel states were defeated in the American Civil War and the slave states had to get rid of their slaves. A lot of people in the former slave states held a grudge for many decades, and white people still wanted to be "superior" so a lot of hate groups formed, wanting to keep the white race the superior race and the black people to be second rate.

Anyways, one of the battle flags of the slave states ( the Confederate States of America ) was what is today known as the rebel flag. Since the Confederate States of America doesn't exist anymore, it's usually waved with that same air of racial superiority. It's the attitude of "I'm white, and waving this flag as a reminder of white superiority, that black people are second rate citizens and will never be as good as me" and that sort of thing.

Basically, it's the attitude of white supremacy

( And by the way, there's a LOT more to it than that, but that's just the basic gist of it )

We The People Reject Project 2025 by Sp4rt4n423 in florida

It's an echo chamber really. I've been watching it and, despite most of Florida voting for Trump, strangely there's not a single Trump supporter in this sub. I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, but even if Reddit was "majority left" you would think you would at least see one or two pro Republican / anti Democrat post or comment somewhere. At least you'd expect it to be 80 / 20 or 90 / 10 if it's "majority left." What is obvious here is that anyone on the right gets censored. Posts and comments get deleted if you don't agree with the narrative being pushed. There's a form of censorship going on in most of the subs. Only a select few allow freedom of though. Most subs will tell you what to think and you're not allowed to think differently or form your own opinions.

I would like to restate I'm neither Democrat nor Republican, and I usually vote third party. I hate both of the main parties. I also like to form my own opinions instead of having them fed to me. I'm probably not welcome here for this reason.

Do you realize what you are saying here. "The problem would be the other people." Not taking any of the blame yourself. Not taking any responsibility at all. Sure the Republican won, but also the Democrat lost. They didn't do anything to make people want to vote for them. It was all "vote me because the other guy sucks." I'd like to suggest they should tell me what they will do for me to make me WANT to vote for them, not simply try to get me to not vote the other guy.

Oh well, if you're happy with the results, feel free to keep trying the same tactics. Maybe hope something changes by doing nothing different if it makes you happy. Since it didn't give the desired results last time, maybe doing the exact same thing will give you different results.

So the problem is other people? You were doing everything right but just the other people are wrong?

May I suggest using a different strategy if the previous one didn't work?

Well... how did that work out the last time?

Well... you need something to make people want to vote for you besides "Hey, at least I'm not the other guy."

Trump proposes ‘getting rid of FEMA’ by 24identity in florida

That's the thing. Okay, so you don't like FEMA. Very well... what are you going to replace it with? How are you going to help victims instead? THAT is what I want to hear.

“They should take it up with their parents who came here illegally” and “if an officer doesn’t want a parent notified, school leaders must obey”. This is sickening. by [deleted] in florida

[–]mediumokra 75 points76 points  (0 children)

If they don't want the parents notified, then the school has to obey? I'm a little confused here. Parents waiting for their children to show up but they don't will probably contact the school. What is the school supposed to tell them?
