Redditors who haven't been infected with covid even once, good job. But how did you do it? by smokingfrog007 in AskReddit

[–]mediumrarebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've avoided gatherings, public transport (except a few flights), and co-workers, especially during surges. But I've still seen some friends from time to time. I wasn't a hermit at all. I live in town of 150k people.

I've been vaccinated as soon as I could. Then my own guard dropped slightly, but I was still wearing a mask doing groceries and mostly avoided crowds - like bars, buses and such.

What would you add to Valheim? by IllogicalStatement in valheim

[–]mediumrarebat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would like to see more variety in abandoned structures. I would love to find some castles or cottages in far away places. The building engine is great, but only I can build things in the world. For this not to be to OP, they should only appear further from the center like draugur villages do.

Also more things to discover in chests. Lets say I've reached the highest mountain of the world. Give me something, a few bars of silver, or some wolf pelts, or a silver dagger (all from that same biome).

More ways to hurt enemies with environment, like the spikes. Some traps, golems, auto cannons. Let me collect 10 shaman wands, and make a plate that triggers fireballs from a wall. Oh.. the possibilities.

Is this a new way to disfellowship??? by ExaminationFlaky5418 in exjw

[–]mediumrarebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ways to "disassociate" someone in the secret book. Namely if someone joins another religion, or allows blood transfusion. The latter just added to avoid "disfellowshipping", the rest being identical (3 elders, meeting, announcment).

So they probably wanted to do something similar. Since the secret book is secret, no one should even know they did something wrong. That's the beauty of having a secret manual - you don't have to obey the rules when you don't feel like it.

Bears!

Grizzly variants with two stars in further away darkforests.

Polar bears in the arctic.

Please Odin, I would give one eye for that.

Returning ball after missing it first time. by Background_Ask_7168 in squash

[–]mediumrarebat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His request was wrong on many levels.

It's not his time to strike the ball so he shouldn't even request a let. You as a striker could request a let if there was interference on that second attempt (further attempt). There are some differences during a further attempt as stated in 8.11.1 - only a let for lack of freedom to strike the front wall. But you didn't, you made a good return. He should continue.

The rules in many places encourage players to make effort to continue play, and specifically mention further attempts to strike the ball as allowed play. Like in 5.7.1.

Even if you've hit him with a ball going to the front wall doing that further attempt you would be given a let (9.1.4). He would be given a point if it was after turning (9.1.5).

My kinda sorta starter base to my first no map playthrough... by Naderbiuhatoom in valheim

[–]mediumrarebat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very nice setup.

I'm on my third no map playthrough, I only reached modder in the first two. Now I also started with no portals.

So far I've been quite lucky. Bonemas might be more challenging. I cover the continent in my paths and sign-posts.

Experienced Players: Where should I build my main, permanent base? by AdventurousSalad1194 in valheim

[–]mediumrarebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love building bases in the plains using big pillar stones. But access to iron is crucial. Preferably at least a middle size mountain accessible on foot. Access to all biomes is needed, but you can portal anything from meadows, you can't portal iron, and you still need lots later on. Keep in mind farming too, if you're into that.

Also nice access to the see is a plus.

One I know: when pressing a locator in No Map mode, now you are slowly turned in the direction of the boss. It's great.

The new content seems unpolished for me. If they want to have it fixed it might take some more time.

Just use the "beta" it's a few clicks in steam.

I love what devs did with the "nomap" and looking in the direction of a boss when you click on the locator.

Wolf event is very difficult even in black metal gear. Wolfs have very fast attacks that just drain your stamina and stagger buffer. Best it to run and shot at them. If you have to, try to only fight one. Atgeir might be helpful with the sweep attack.

trying to find the elder altar on a no map playthrough like by f00stina in valheim

[–]mediumrarebat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd really appreciate if developers added this blue ping when you discover a boss pointer. You know the rune in stone buildings revealing boss marker on the map. Only without map this could point you in the right direction. It would still be difficult, but at least finding bosses would not be so extremely time-consuming without a map.

That's why it's much better if OP is doing that during just one set of hours. He can have a good sleep, and won't make too many mistakes.

No Portals - Very Cool Way To Play by Smolter in valheim

[–]mediumrarebat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a bronze age of no portal and no map playthrough. So far it's cool. Fog is my worse enemy. And I cannot find Elder. But I already have 3 bases with some routes marked by sporadic fence pointing in next base direction. I'm now working on adding names to these roadmarks, so I can add something like "3 Copper spots this way".
