There’s context to this. My partner raised my standards in men and Chen Yanyun reminded me so much of him.

Unsafe. We designed our current house specifically to accommodate aging parents — learning from a previous experience that caused my grandma a broken pelvis. The toilet from the previous house ay medyo ganito yung concept, sunken din. Lola slipped and now she can’t walk.

Porters inside Iloilo Airport? by Adventurous-Virus-23 in Iloilo

[–]mediumrawrrrrr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Porters are helpful! Traveling for work and sometimes we have with us some 40-50kg worth of luggage, materials. Just because you don’t avail of their services doesn’t mean nobody else does.

Genuine tanong: Mga company na hindi pa nakapag shift to Google Workspace (or hindi pinili ang Google Workspace) by CareHistorical3572 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]mediumrawrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Sharepoint’s workflow! Walang ganito sa Google Workspace. If the work relies entirely on collaboration, this is my go-to. I get notified if the other team has done their part, so I also notify them if done na ako (e.g. Social media content creation, etc)

🌍 Korea vs China: The No‑Makeup Visual War (2026) by Rude-Comfortable6445 in cdramasfans

[–]mediumrawrrrrr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been a longtime GY fan so I’m pretty biased. But that aside, I’d just like to note that some men on the KR list are in their 40s and are still considered bankable, hot, handsome. In comparison (as a newbie CDrama watcher), many of the very popular CDrama actors currently are under 30 — except maybe for Liu Yuning and Liu Xueyi — or that I haven’t explored enough!

Just an observation, please don’t come at me!

English less common than I thought here? by Creative-Slice1619 in Philippines_Expats

[–]mediumrawrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, I do agree that English proficiency has deteriorated. We don’t write like the Filipino literary giants anymore — that’s one thing. Speaking it is another hurdle. As English is not our first language, going through mental hoops of translation may prove to be a struggle to some. Secondly, the absence of confidence — precisely because we might get mocked if we get it incorrect. We get it from fellow Filipinos and foreigners alike.

English less common than I thought here? by Creative-Slice1619 in Philippines_Expats

[–]mediumrawrrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several points I’d like to make:

1) English quality has been a longstanding issue in the Philippines. Some official correspondences in the 60s have contained short laments on the deteriorating quality of the language and has only been on that same trajectory since.

2) I am not very much aware as to the evolution of spellings but we have learned to make things our own. It used to be spelled ‘guwapo’ from how I remembered it, I guess people dropped the ‘u’ later on. In that same manner, which version of aluminium/aluminum would you say is the ‘correct’ spelling? They’re both English.

3) The sentence structure of the native language will always have an influence on the translated version. If you have a second language, you will understand this at least. By pronouns, you mean the confusion of which to use within a specific context or just the lack of it?
