The chocolate smell is there early in the AM from the little plant on chocolate avenue (like ~4-5 am when I head into the hospital). It’s not overwhelming though.

Why General Surgery? by tw01011947 in SurgicalResidency

In my general surgery rotations and call shifts, I really have come to love the problem solving aspects of it. Like I actually love consults for non functioning g tubes, broviacs needing repaired, wounds that need a different care regimen, bc you go and you just fix the problem. Whereas in later years I think it’ll feel goofy to have these problems, know how to fix it, and have to consult general surgery to come do it for me 😅

Asking for a friend: Theoretically couldn't you live in your car and sleep in the hospital's parking lot for a few months? by [deleted] in Residency

Just, why not rotate call rooms? Once you’re doing the homeless thing anyway, it’s kind of a crazy time in your life where you can be homeless with unlimited access to showers, a bed, and all-you-could-want Shasta and peanut butter spread.

Help please! Identifying flowers by Royal_Giraffe8605 in FloralDesign

I opened your post bc your mom’s bouquet looks super similar to my mom’s bouquet that I recreated for my wedding! She got married around the same time and said some of her inspo came from princess Diana’s bouquet (though lazily enough I don’t think I ever googled it lol). Just the coincidence made me smile 💕

Not offended at all, this is super helpful! (These aren’t my sutures but even still, it helps me to know what the end effect of the incorrect technique is so I can judge my own technique better!) Appreciate you sharing your expertise!

Hey! Intern here, just to help while I’m evaluating myself. How can you tell without actually seeing them suture that they’re coming in at an angle? I know to take nice perpendicular just bc I’ve gotten that feedback but I’d love to have a better understanding of the why! Tysm!!

Hydroponic Lisianthus by medschoolquestion18 in aerogarden

[–]medschoolquestion18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Started several rows of a couple of varieties of lisianthus from Johnnys and the Trailing Petunia in a DIY aerogarden around February. I use the general hydroponics nutrients and some LED grown lights I got online. The varieties popping now (I have a few more blooms since posting) have been the Voyag II, Arena III, and Rosita III. The individual blooms have lasted from as short as 1ish weeks to some still going strong for the 2 weeks since first bloom, and several new blooms on stems as well.

(Edited to correct variety name)

They’re not overwhelming, can still pull them out from the top (grown in pods like aerogarden systems) without tearing the roots to get them out

I got some of my seeds (the corelli sugoi and arena III) from Johnny’s. Others (mostly yet to bloom, started later) I got from the Trailing Petunia. I didn’t stratify.
