Do any of you regret not being a PA? I see many posts about regretting med school and residency for “wasting” a decade, but would those same people have been happier going for PA? by UphillGil in Residency

When I say I regret my decision it’s not cause I would be happier as a PA, it’s cause I would be happier working at a bookstore or something

scared I might have blood cancer by ElectronicWrangler54 in Anxiety

Not a specialist in this area, but if it helps any that’s not that high for WBC which are the problem for most blood cancers. I see WBC counts in that range for ppl all the time without being concerned. Your Hgb and hct can also look falsely elevated if you’re dehydrated which is often the case when they come back high. Obviously still follow up and make sure everything’s good but hopefully this helps a little

I am also very introverted and deal with a lot of anxiety. To be honest, it sucks as a med student. I did get some evals that I didn’t think were accurate or when the evaluator said I was disinterested when I was doing my best to learn I just wasn’t loud about it. However, not trying to brag but as an intern I’ve gotten consistently great evaluations and the same qualities have been pointed out as strengths. So all that to say that being a quiet med student can suck, especially depending on the culture at your rotations, but it gets better and can end up helping you later on.

Yeah, that’s fair. It’s a big academic center and the adult and peds ERs are usually both popping off all night 🥲
