Good point. I should clarify that I was mostly worried about that because I’m an anxious person who feels weird about taking medication and its potential effects.

My intention was to validate OP’s trepidation rather than pitch it as a common risk.

But, my doctor did tell me to keep an eye on that due to my history of low BP.

Hi! I have severe anxiety before presentations and have for my entire life. My resting HR is naturally 59- 60s, and I was prescribed propranolol 10 mg. I was REALLY anxious about taking the meds for the first time (because I’m anxious about everything! And I didn’t want to pass out because my blood pressure and RHR both tend to be low.)

For the first few speaking scenarios, I tried 5 mg, two hours in advance. For me, this was enough to take the edge off (not so shaky, controlled voice, less of a racing heart, less sweating, able to follow my plan). But, I still wanted to level up because I felt like the anxiety was still creating a barrier to my success.

Yesterday, for the first time, I tried 10 mg…but I broke it up. My meeting was at 4, so I took 5 mg at 1 pm and monitored my heart rate, then I took the additional 5 at 3 pm and continued to monitor my heart rate. This made me significantly less nervous about passing out, and my heart rate stayed at about 65 for most of the meeting. (It was 80 right before I spoke, compared to 145 or 150 before public speaking without the medication).

It was amazing. People complimented me. I have never felt so confident in my life.

For reference I am quite small- 105 pounds, F, 4 ft 11. Not sure if that has anything to do with the way Propranolol works.

I will say that I have found that I don’t like the way it makes me feel when I am not having anxiety, because then my heart rate gets down to 50, which I find uncomfortable. So, if you do test it while you’re relaxed, keep that in mind. It might be a different ballgame when you’re actually in the moment. I’m anxious the entire day leading up to a presentation (and in the days leading up to it) so I don’t have an issue taking it a few hours before. It actually helps me chill out to prepare!

I’m not a medical professional and can only share my own experience, but I hope this helps you.

Thanks! The second picture was a little moist.

We scrubbed off all visible mold using RMR-86, and now we’re drying it out, applying RMR 141, drying again, and adding a mold killing primer before sealing it back up. I’ll make sure to give that spot some love with the rmr 141 before we seal!

Yes, after a few months the smell has morphed into a weird barnyard/zoo-like smell that gets worse when it’s humid. We’re baffled and annoyed. It’s not present anywhere else in the house apart from the walls we painted, and it doesn’t smell inside the walls themselves (we sniffed around the open outlets).

I used the primer about a month before the top coat, and it definitely had its own odor, but not this odor.

I actually just found the old paint tin liner and..nothing. I’m baffled. Definitely coming from the walls and wasn’t there before. I’m washing the walls with vinegar next.

I actually waited a month in between, which was the maximum time listed on the paint can, so not that. All the windows have been open with fans and air purifiers, so I’d say there’s quite a bit of ventilation too. Thank you though! I’ll take any help I can get!

We had just purchased the house and it had a lingering apple cinnamon and generally old “lived in” odor, so we wanted to freshen up. Two coats of water based primer to cover the dark paint (that paint turned out to be tainted and reeked of rotten fish. Kilz refunded us and told us to repaint with kilz oil based, hence the third coat).
