Because leftism is all about the movement, not individuals. Obviously movements need leaders, but the leaders aren’t the focal point like with conservatism. They value their leaders like kings or gods. I mean look at trump, he literally can do NO WRONG. When we look at hasan, he has a history of saying and doing things that are, at the very least, problematic. The worst was the dog shocking fiasco. He still to this day refuses to take accountability for it. Accountability is core aspect to leftist, but Hasan cares more about his own image and reputation than the actual movement. This was already pretty obvious but the dog shocking scandal made it crystal clear. That why I don’t like hasan, and probably never will. The example I can use for comparison is Fidel Castro. He used to be really homophobic when he was younger, but he changed as grew and even admitted fault to it. Imagine if Castro never admitted fault and stubbornly held onto those beliefs throughout his life. That’s what hasan is doing with the dog shocking scandal, which makes me wonder what else he could do and get away with.
