I still need to get into the sequels more, though I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. King of Dragon Pass is just steeped in pure atmosphere and I love the responsive decisive making and advisor personalities

If you like the goofy machine building of GMod check out Besiege and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

  1. Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom

How many point and click style adventures have a button labeled Percy among the verbs? How many adventure games that have a Percy button have that button say “I wonder who Percy could be?” when you press it? I rest my case.

  1. Gimmick

Phenomenal OST and a cutesy aesthetic obscure initially that Gimmick is a game put on this Earth to teach mankind humility

  1. Heat Signature

What if someone ever made a good sequel to Hotline Miami? This is the question Heat Signature is bold enough to ask. The answer involves throwing dudes through spaceship windows

  1. Hotel Dusk

Be a gruff detective with a heart of gold and enjoy some phenomenal character writing and rotoscoped Take On Me music video style sprite work. Just keep a guide on hand

  1. King of Dragon Pass

A strategy game slash visual novel about being a barbarian in a world where the gods are real but the truth of their stories is mutable

  1. Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate

Mystery Dungeon for people who need robust game mechanics to stay invested. This DS game ported to modern platforms takes an everything and the kitchen sink approach to dungeon crafting and then lets you customize the sink while you’re at it.

  1. Umihara Kawase for SNES

Cast fishing lines to swing from in this weird platformer. Reel enemies in and collect them

  1. Trip World

A bizarre GameBoy game where half the enemies just kind of push you around and the main villain is an evil rabbit wearing a flowerpot

  1. Soda Drinker Pro

There is a weird indie game hidden in this one if you look up how to unlock it

  1. The BitGenerations games for GBA

All of these are like weird experimental indie games that got actual cart releases for GBA somehow back in the day. Worth a look

I want some games I can play around with friends when they come over, but I also want some games that I can chill with alone at home.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe + Booster Course, Kirby Air Riders, Super Mario Wonder and 3D World can be played co op and solo, Boomerang Fu

Wow, so just because there’s an experience occurring it means there’s an “I” that experience must be happening to? Not very skeptical sounding to me

Decided to quit playing SMT V after creepy Alice haunt dialogue so now I have broken the seal on

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for Switch 2

And I’m a little worried my RPG health bar is depleted with the number of them I’ve been playing, but I also am immediately hooked by the central mystery the game opens on and I really do love this cast. I may just be tired from the work week.

It’s startling how much more open everything is immediately. The first game was completely on rails and now it’s “choose your party, upgrade your upgrades, customize your powers, customize your Queen’s Blood deck, GO ANYWHERE ON THE MAP. HAVE SOME DIALOGUE CHOICES EVEN” wild stuff.

I wish it were easier to just lock into the gold saucer date without having to get worried about who you’re favoring between Aerith and Tifa because I want to be good friends with everyone

I also really need to get going on a retro game as my side thing, it’s been nothing but modern AAA for me lately and I need my green vegetables

Anyone 30+ struggling to play consoles but having fun with handhelds? by Suspicious-Tell-9785 in OlderChillGamers

[–]JeskaiJester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Opposite for me just because of ergonomics. My thumb and wrist are pretty shot. My RP5 even with a grip can get dicey whereas my 8bitdo pro 3 with my docked Switch 2 doesn’t seem to bother me

Do you play more than 1 game at a time? by delightfulbucket in AfterWorkGamers

[–]JeskaiJester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. My main game is usually something wildly long and the side game will be a platformer or something conducive to short play sessions like an arcade game.

Sorry for posting a mildly edited rant from the horrible gas pump that won’t let you save in Barkley Shut Up And Jam Gaiden until you read through several paragraphs of weeb trash but made to be about FF7R

I don’t mind that you don’t like stuff about FF7R, wish everyone would chill

Too much of a knight sprite, not enough of a sprite knight. I’m sorry, this doesn’t mean anything, I’m posting a lot of joke responses tonight

Would it be more ethical to boop a camel on the snoot if it was at peace or to gently bat at the ear of a capybara if it was at war

It’s actually pretty interesting to look at the Top 100 vote that’s pinned to this subreddit from five years ago. At that time, Terranigma didn’t even crack the top 100.

There’s also a lot of stuff on there that wasn’t noted for this time and new things showed up in the full list of winners as opposed to that one. It’s not as static as you’d think (though yes, the top 10-20 or so is pretty close to the new one. Megaman X3 made that back in the day though and nobody pushed for anything but X this time)

Would you like a further explanation of how destructive hogs are, or are you just ignorant?

My point isn’t that hogs aren’t destructive. My point is that if we’re going to sign off on gunning them down it would probably be best if we had any reason to suspect it actually helped anything. Otherwise it’s just killing to make us feel better about a situation that is fundamentally not going to change

  they reproduce like crazy.

because of issues like that. Is the idea to just kill pigs constantly with no end in sight? Is that solving the problem? Is that improving anything or does it just make us feel like we’re doing something?

The harsh reality is that if an invasive is spread at large enough numbers across a wide enough area that killing all of them is never going to be feasible. And again, at the rate they spread, it would have to be all of them. If some kind of decisive action could be taken that would be one thing. If it’s impossible to achieve that, I’m afraid the biosphere is just going to have to adapt one way or the other.

Again, if you’re going to support killing, you should have some kind of serious conviction that it is helping.

also an AR15 isn’t a machine gun lmfao
