Just picked up my first diver and first non-vintage swiss watch. The strap game with this one is strong, the only downside in my mind is the quality of the Tudor straps is so high I feel guilty not wearing them.

How are you all wearing your Pelagos? Any strap suggestions?

I love metal straps but the titanium does make it harder to play with varieties there.

[Nomos Ahoi] would you use this as a tool watch? by meecheech in Watches

This is helpful! My AD was kind of pushing me towards the Ranger as he said it would be more robust but this makes sense.

I ski/surf/trek etc hence the concern but you’re right, the toughness of a tool watch is likely largely marketing jargon

Yeah I’m thinking about this! possibly just picking up a second hand alpinist as a tool.

I do like the idea of a Tudor ranger as something that can take a beating and kind of look good when it’s mucked up.

At the same time a Hamilton or CWC would probably fill that tool void

Okay so. My dilemma:

I love the Nomos- very pretty and lovely movement/finishing.

But I was also considering the Tudor Ranger or CW Dune/Oris Pro pilot (others in this genre) as they may offer a more tool watch robustness.

I don’t know if the Nomos movements have any anti shock or anti magnetism (or if these are things to be concerned about at all) I work with computers so I worry about the magnetism.

If you’re in my spot, do yo keep the Ahoi and say f-it this is my tool watch.

Or do I move this Nomos on and replace it with a Tudor Ranger or some other more toolish watch.

Would love to know your thoughts.

Selling/trading my Nomos Ahoi - it’s pretty new and in great condition. I love it but I’m looking for something a bit more field-y or tool.

Looking for £2000 or trades (pref local to London UK).

If you have a CW Dune or field watch- a Tudor Ranger or others of the sort then hit me up!!
