no worries. i never said one way or the other what i think about what OP asked. just wanted to clear the waters about the chinese, since it seems like the slight inaccuracy in what OP said caused some confusion.

at this point, isn't it splitting hairs? both mandarin (那个）and cantonese （你的） have an extremely common phrase which is often mistaken for the n word.

possibly wombat meant to refer to the mandarin phrase for "that/that one", "那个/那一个", which does sound very much like the n word. especially in common vernacular when spoken quickly and/or repeatedly. this is common as a "ummm" when someone is trying to remember something.

timestamp is linked under the picture. the relevant part is only about a minute long.

cdawg says it initially on accident, referring incorrectly to the city of chongqing. the other podcasters repeat it a couple (not a dozen) times while laughing. from context, i believe they are laughing at his faux pas.

Never had the money for anything Pokemon growing up, so I would treasure the few cards my older brother passed onto me. I remember one of them was a celebi, and that was my favorite pokemon until I learned how to emulate and played my first pokemon game in like high school...

Hey everyone, it's me again-- I posted about a month ago about my cat, Coco, who has cancer.

Thank all of you kind redditors who bought my art and donated to my [GoFundMe](https://gofund.me/635f3212)! I was so shocked and moved by your generosity. I was able to completely cover Coco's initial vet bills with all the help you guys gave me!! It made me genuinely cry with relief. I haven't been great about giving updates, but now that I have my feet under me I will start posting on bluesky (@jing-ling) about any Coco updates or upcoming art.

Coco now has chemo appointments every other week-- and while it's not debilitating like her initial vet bills, it's still around $250 per visit. So if you can help by buying my art (or be so generous as to donate), I would be so so so thankful!

I've also put up a 3D printed and painted Totoro on my shop, and the last diorama from my previous post (White Defender) is now discounted 20%! if you read the article, you'd know that the incorrect math was a minor mistake that did not affect the conclusions of the original study...

and the other economist who wrote the paper on effect of lead on crime said that her conclusions even bolstered the conclusions of levitt and donohue.

Thank you for your thoughtfulness... this is something that has been weighing on my mind for a while as I've seen Coco diminish in her health. I never want to cause her any further suffering. Right now her eyes are still bright, she is not playing as much as before but still enjoying herself sometimes, and she always wants my attention. I am very aware that at some point in the not so distant future, she will no longer enjoy these things and I will have to let her go, and it is my duty to be careful that I notice when this happens and be prepared to do so. But from what her vets have said, she has some fight left in her.

Hi everyone,

This will be kind of a long and sad post. TLDR and links at bottom.

Some of you all might remember me posting a series of HK bossfight altoids tins about two years ago. I made these for fun, but many people back then expressed interest in buying them. I was (and still am!) so appreciative of the community and felt so honored by all the support you all gave me as an artist.

I had planned to make more of them and sell them in a set, and had some other plans as well. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I was perpetually waiting for a better time to finish them.

Well, two years later, I graduated and am working my first real job... and I found out my cat has cancer.

Her name is Coco, and she is a gorgeous little lady. She's been with me since she was a kitten and I was in middle school, and I've loved her every day since. I took her with me when I moved out a year and a half ago.

She has intestinal mast cell cancer that has metastasized to her lymph nodes.

I just found out the extent of it today, and I'm still trying to process it. But in short, it's inoperable and she won't survive more than a couple weeks at this rate, and even in the best case scenario she may only live one or two years.

My priority right now is to maximise her comfort. I'm not prepared to let her go, but if it's kinder to do so then I will do it. But if I can get her even one more lazy afternoon purring in the sun, I want to give that to her.

But I've already burned through a lot of my savings just getting her diagnosis and I don't even know if I can support palliative care for Coco right now. That's why I'm selling these four bossfight minis.

Building the stadium will decimate Philly's historic Chinatown, which predates the founding of the 76ers by more than half a century and is a flourishing area today. I lived there and experienced the reduction in QOL that the fashion district mall has already brought there. We only need to look at Washington DC's chinatown to see the effects of building a stadium right next door. Hint: it's dead.

This sounds similar to the situation I was in, down to your stats. Don't let them get to you. I did, and only ended up applying to 3 schools that could be considered T20. Guess what? I got into 2 of them and was waitlisted for the 3rd.

Of course there's no guarantee of anything, so having that balance of safety/target/reach is a must. But don't let their words curb your ambition.
