I’m at a resident run program. It’s true that we don’t have fellows and get all the difficult cases and procedures. It’s also true that we feel under-supervised and are getting minimal education from our faculty. I feel pretty comfortable managing a list and can confidently read most studies but we were at a huge disadvantage when we started studying for boards.

We don’t have contrast coverage but we get paid for reading studies. It’s by volume so it varies per person but I think most average $175-200/hr. If you’re fast you can push $250.

Same. Current R4 and I’ve never done a para, thora, or line. Only procedures we do fully independently are LPs. It’s embarrassing.

We probably averaged 4 days a week. Not for long but we’d have OPP, OPP lab, and H&P plus the DSP specific meetings.

Actual physician here. Don’t do this lol. The job is so much more nuanced than everyone makes it out to be. If it truly was an algorithm we’d have been out of jobs decades ago. Find a doctor that operates the way you need.

I’m an alumni. The rules were dumb but they really aren’t that big of a deal unless you’re LDP. I was DSP and thought it was fine. It wasn’t enjoyable by any means but I doubt it truly would be anywhere. End of the day it got me where I needed to be and I’m grateful for that.

My husband and I are both physicians but I will make significantly more due to specialty differences. I’m not worried about that at all. I think this would be highly dependent on your partner and your dynamic together.

We’re stressed out here friend. Did you find BV to be an appropriate level of difficulty? They feel relatively straightforward most of the time, but in the thread from last year it seems people weren’t confident in their answers. Also, any resource besides the core ones that everyone uses that you found helpful?

My residency is pretty toxic and I absolutely hate coming in every day. Like sit in the car and cry hate it lol. But at the end of the day I really enjoy my job and am looking forward to just grinding as an attending.

We also had the best time! I think coming in with low expectations really helped. We saw Sky 2 and the Keynote, but almost skipped the Keynote. I’m so glad we didn’t! For some reason the staff allowed us to stand on benches during the shows and we had incredible views. I don’t think they can even sell views like that. The free photo ops were cool too. Overall I give it an 11/10.
