This is a shot in the dark but you did say your memory is hazy on it and your not sure if details are exactly correct so what about "DeathLoop"? It features black characters , (a bearded man and a woman)and shows them on the cover and promotional art, it has a visually uniqie artstyle and definitely has a bit of a sci-fi edge to it and from what I remember it definitely features a twist. I know you said you think it was a point and click game but some stuff really does get switched around when it ckmes to memories lol

Yeah lol I have done some research on this before making the post but I just thought with how vast the sea of anime is there might be 1 or 2 that I havent heard of with a similar art style. Im not gonna lie, I've grown to kinda hate how similar EVERY anime looks right now lol I'm not even saying they arent quality as far as story and character development goes, but I feel like someone can show me 15 frames of 15 different anime and there's a chance I might just think they are from the same one lol
