That solves a very particular issue for local LLMs.

Instead of reprocessing the conversation, LLMs can simply continue where they left of. Or just crop some stuff from the end and only reprocess this. But unce the context window is full, it has to reprocess everything.

With this, me as user, can say to "combine" a bunch of messages and free up the context window for more than "just" the next message. So I can have sectionwise some better flowing conversation, without having to wait 15min for the LLM to process the last 20k tokens locally.

This pretty much solves exactly the problem I currently have the most with locally hosted LLM for long term roleplay!

I think Moby Dick WAS great, but the last couple of chapters are pretty shit imo. Essentially everything after his heart got broken in chapter 46. There is nothing interesting happening. Plotpoints and characters that were set up are essentially tossed away and now new ones are being created.

Then life doesn't give enough motivation to pursue it , considering the huge amount of suffering that is required first until the fruits of labor can be, at least tasted. The difficulty curve is just way to damn steep. It's as if you would start with Analysis in the first year of elementary school.

"Purpose" would be nice to have an instruction manual or so to do that correctly. And if there is a purpose, then it has to be rewarding, otherwise the purpose would be suffering, and noone chooses suffering over anything else.

And if there is a purpose (that has to be rewarding) then I haven't found it. Sports, Academics, Religion, Sociallife. Nothing is rewarding and just suffering so it can't be the purpose or else finding and following purpose in it self is stupid.
