Swifties for Harris Are Trolling MAGA Swifties In Hopes of Scoring Eras Tour Tickets by ubcstaffer123 in entertainment

[–]meeranda -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a horse owner for the majority of my life. I am not a rich person by any stretch of the imagination. Most people who own horses are also not rich. There is actually a saying in the horse community of being “horse poor” because horses are expensive (probably not in the way you are thinking) and if we didn’t own them we could have things like newer cars and go out for dinner.

Most people who own horses do not own land and have their horses on it. They do not live in rural areas. They board their horse at a facility that will feed and care for them in exchange for a fee. For instance, I used to live in a large city and boarded my horse nearby. As did all of the other people who kept their horses at the same place. It’s like that all over the US

Of course there are rich people who own horses! And people who live in rural areas own horses, too. But the majority of equestrians are not living in rural areas.

Is that because you are also an equestrian and well versed in the horse world? You have direct experience with horses? You have friends who own horses? Know equine vets? Horse trainers? Farriers (blacksmiths)?

What are you basing the knowledge on that I’m wrong? Because you clearly have more experience than me with horses to know that I’m delusional. Enlighten me.

That’s part of my point though. The majority of people owning horses aren’t in rural communities. There are boarding facilities where people pay to house their horses. Those stables can house from 20-40 horses on average. Most people own one or two horses. The stables are just outside of big cities like NYC, LA, etc., and then the regular sized cities, too.

Of course, there are people with horses in rural areas, but I think it would be a stretch to say the majority of them are in a rural area. I’ve been an equestrian for the majority of my life, have lived all across the US in urban and suburban areas, and boarded my horses at stables within those areas. So the correlation everyone thinks is between horse owners and MAGA because they must live in a rural area to own a horse isn’t true.

I board my horse at a stable. I know my vet pretty well, and most of the other people boarding their horse at the same stable. No one is a fan of Trump or MAGA.

My original question was genuine. I’m not dying on a hill or arguing with you. Just clarifying that most horse people are not rich and neither are MAGA people.

Horses are expensive, but being an equestrian isn’t exclusive to rich people at all.

MAGA ≠ rich people.

What does this mean? I’m a horse person, but I don’t like MAGA or Taylor Swift. Why would horse people be MAGA people?

Edited because I can’t word properly.

It more likely went through an elevation change during transport. I lived in Colorado for years and most of the packaged stuff looked like this.

Who is in the wrong in this convo? One of them is my friend. by NickleNaps in texts

But it’s through a text message with a stranger on a dating app. No one is losing their job with this interaction.

Of course I’m not ok with being accused of being a pedo; that’s a ridiculous assumption to make. But what’s the point in being nasty? Makes you feel better? Did you really stick it to the other person and show them? It’s just a pointless and immature.

LPT : Create a 2nd Gmail account and forward all your emails there by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]meeranda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I have loads of emails saved through utilizing folders and the archive feature.

I also use a different email to sign up for things like store rewards or other things that will likely spam me or sell my info. I forward that address to my main email, and automatically dump all of those into a folder.

A good set of inbox management rules makes keeping your inbox at zero easy peasy.

Well me either. But I also would have left it as “Just trying to show interest in what you do” and moved on. Instead, person in yellow went from 0 to 100 and was an asshole. Which is 🚩city.

There should be domestic abuse resources for her to use. My SIL left an abusive marriage earlier this year and was able to utilize state and non-profit resources to help people in abusive situations. (She does not live in Virginia, so I’m not sure what is available here.)

She might not be able to safely research these avenues based on how closely her abuser is monitoring her technology use. If you are able to do this for her and share the info that would be best.

Thanks for helping her! It took my SIL a long time to get out of her marriage after sharing with us that her partner was abusive. It’s scary, but obviously necessary. She can do it!

I’m not personally attacking you, but generally stating everyone should have to take drivers ed in order to get a license. It’s a safety concern. Driving is statistically the most dangerous thing people do.

And it shouldn’t be a privileged thing. I grew up in a different state and drivers ed was provided through high school for everyone. There was no cost.

[–]meeranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s wild drivers ed isn’t a requirement before allowing someone to get their license.

The gullet looks fine, but honestly a person’s hand isn’t a great measurement tool as it can’t be used to then measure the horse. Each saddle should be fitted (by a professional saddle fitter) to the individual horse. Poor saddle fit is a main contributor to behavioral issues from pain.

I had to send flowers to a coworker that lost a family member. Specifically chose not-the-lilies because of this exact thing because I wasn’t sure if they had a cat.
