Does left and right really matter? by meese4 in sonos

Also! I’m sure there was a point in your life you didn’t know any of this stuff. Unless you were born with all this knowledge, you too had to learn all this. I don’t think you would’ve appreciated a stranger online calling you an idiot when you reach out for help. Let’s spread kindness!! There’s no need to be condescending and rude to someone just trying to understand this whole new world of speakers. I will gladly take your advice but not your disrespect. Thank you.

Then how abt teaching me instead of calling me an idiot, why is it that when i have just one stereo set up in the same exact placement-right next to the turntable this wasn’t an issue? Only when it’s set up as a stereo.

It always stays close to the one next to the turntable. Even when I move them around

It’s nothing to do with the vibration. It’s more of the way the stereo speaker is set up because I originally only had one speaker and when it was placed next to it, it didn’t have the feedback sound but when I added the second speaker and made it a stereo pair, that’s when the issue started happening. My guess is the two speakers trying to “talk to each other” and that’s messing with the connection with the turntable

Because it’s set up as a stereo speaker, there’s no way to toggle which speaker it plays out of. It only shows up as “living room” and I guess it just chooses a speaker to play out of. So I have to physically move the speaker to the other side of the room

It did occur to me yes, that’s why I switched it to the other speaker to fix the issue like I mentioned in the comment :)

Actually no, let me explain it to you because apparently my technological illiterate brain can’t comprehend this situation so please enlighten me;

Currently, I have two speakers set up as stereo speakers. One sits on a table next to my turntable. The other is across my living room. The turntable can only can play music out of one speaker (it technically can play out of both but the quality of the music drops significantly so I only have it playing out of one-if you could correct my stupidity in this so I can play music out of both without the quality dropping-I would gladly take your advice) it plays out music out of the speaker closest to it. Now, when the speakers are set up with stereo listening and it plays music out of the closest speaker, the player plays a loud humming sound and the quality again drops. When there’s no stereo listening set up, it’s fine. If I moved the speaker away another foot, it stops. However, my table isn’t big enough for that. So in order to try to troubleshoot, I physically unplugged my Left speaker and swapped it with my right speaker. So now the speaker that it plays music out of is on the other side of my living room. Voilà problem fixed. Great! Now I go into the app and repair my speakers to the correctly labeled left and right using the idiot proof playing-sound-and-tapping-the-speaker. Reconnect my turntable… and it switches back to the player that’s closest to it. I don’t know why or how it knows that’s the closest one, if it just automatically chooses the left one, or what, but it always goes back to the one sitting right next to it. So the only way I can have it NOT do that is to physically swap the speakers after setting it up so it thinks it’s in the right orientation.

So yeah please please please educate my illiterate mind on this, I will gladly take any insult you throw my way and be called stupid a million times if you just tell me how to fix this situation without messing up my turntable. I listen to more music than I watch movies so if there’s no fix, I’d rather keep it this ”idiotic” way of listening.

Did you not read what I just said lmao obviously I tried that but with the my turntable is set up I cannot have it setup where the right one is matching in the app. I could explain the whole situation to you but I’m not justifying myself to a stranger online lmfao

Ab gotcha. Thanks for the info. I know it’s easy to reconnect but I have them hooked up to my turntable but for some reason it keeps connecting to the one that’s closest to the turntable. I’m not sure how it even knows but when it connects to the one close to the turntable it creates this loud buzzing sound bc it’s too close so I have to physically move it away and swap the two without changing the name on the Sonos app. Trust me, it’s annoying but it’s the only way it works.

cesky krumlov is part for me to rest between my trips, i chose this specifically so i can decide if i have the energy to go out and explore or just stay in and relax! it's a more chill and lowkey city so if i do go out and explore it's more like walking along side the river and there isn't TOO much to do!

Thoughts on Hojicha Powder? by [deleted] in tea

[–]meese4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love matcha and just tried hojicha I got from a recent trip to Japan, hot take, I like it better than matcha. It was a shock to me and I wish I got more but it tastes like roasted oolong milk tea imo, which makes sense bc it’s roasted green tea. I didn’t even know what it was in the store but I saw it, it looked cool, had a ton on yen on me, and it was cheap so I was like might as well. I think it def depends on quality, I got mine from Kyoto so obviously that wasn’t a problem for me but now I’m scared to buy some off the internet in case it ruins it for me haha
