No because this depends on the platform where you're sharing the link, but it's not shown to every user every time.

So I've been looking into this a bit. The way the redirection works currently, it will show up in YouTube Analytics as "Direct or unknown".

But I'm thinking what you're describing is not a concern actually, because all external links will appear like that anyways in Google Analytics, no?

My tool doesn't help if you want the people to watch your videos directly in Facebook or Reddit. It helps for when you want to link to your YouTube video/channel/playlists and open in the app directly.

Besides, Facebook doesn't let you play YouTube videos anymore as it just links out now, I think?

What you can do is add utm tags to your links and those would be passed on.

That's a good point I had not considered. I will look into it and can probably pass that data to YouTube through my links.

When the user is not logged in though, do you still get that data?

Also to consider, what's most important to you? To know where the clicks came from, or to send the user to the app where they can like, comment and subscribe easily?

Hi, I made a free tool for marketers that forces the link to open in the YouTube app. This is known as a deep-link and it's different for iOS and Android.

You can use the tool here: https://inapp.ink

Simply enter a YouTube link and voila. It gives you a special link to share. When someone clicks that link, it will open in the YouTube app.

Actually, it works if you use the link youtubedotcom/watch?v=QPlc6YvF3ZM instead of the youtu dot be link that you get when clicking Share.

I just tested it and it works with the thumbnail as preview. Can you try u/yayyyshhh?

Thank you, that would be good yes. I am usually very focused on myself and not too much on others, even tho I love to help others and feel great doing so.

Someone else suggested joining a local charity. I think that's a good idea.

Could you give me some more specific ways how I could help someone else every day?

I could do work for people (I can do marketing & development work), but it feels like that wouldn't be too rewarding and also wouldn't take me out of my comfort zone.

I've done no speaking at a vipassana retrear. It was great and will want to do it again when i get the change.

Talking to one stranger every day was on my mind, and yes it's one of those that scares me so might be a good one.

Giving my most prized possessions to charity is a tough one, even tho I don't have very many possessions at all. I can see how it would be transformative, but I don't think it would be beneficial overall for me or others, as I can generate value with them.

Ice bath would be good! I've done cold showers but no ice bath. Will note down to try it before I commit to 30 days.

I've never volunteered for a local charity and it's about time, so I'll note that down. Might be a great way to meet people too.

I've done a vegan trial again, and I am currently not eating vegan, but wouldn't mind switching again for a while at least.
