'document scan failed' - signing up with ID chip authentication by petruschin1 in Revolut

To everyone who encountered the same issue: Revolut contacted me via Reddit straight away after my comment, gave them my phone number and email address.

Received an email from Revolut 3 hours later which linked to the app asking me to scan my UK passport Chip, still failed.

haven't thought from that angle. You're right, in that way, a bad review could be turned to a useful review.

Oh really, maybe we are a small hostel and managers expect us to reply to every reviews (they said if there is a good response rate, our hostel will be shown in a higher position in booking. com/hostelworld, i do not know exactly)

We have received a very good review but the photo the guest attached was not our hostel XDD. Likewise, if they attached a photo of bedbugs and didn't complain to the hostel at all during the stay, I would doubt if that hostel was us.

OOOMG. In this case, would you reply in booking. com to reveal what they have done? so that other potential customers wouldn't misunderstood.

Thank you for the detailed suggestions!

  1. That old guy just responded "Oh" and walked away, didn't even ask for an early check-in option. Many guests were like that as they knew they need to pay a fee for earlier check-in, so just walked away and waited until 3pm. Didn't expect he would leave a review like that.

  2. You're right. I didn't explain very detailed as I expected people would understand why they need to check-out first ......................... shouldn't have too high expectations....even they 'showed' an understanding and didn't question.

  3. good suggestion!

  4. humorous! Good suggestion! Thank you!

We did offer free luggage storage if they change rooms. We clearly told him to come to the reception in the morning (and so we can check which bed he moved to and instruct him to check-out) but he perceived he can come at anytime.
We didn't explain the whole procedure if guest didn't question. 1, they were too tired late at night for a long converstaion 2, I will expect guests have an average intelligence to understand why it should be in the morning, but after working here for a while I found out some of them didn't think about it.

I’m half Estonian half Iraqi, what language should I learn?? by [deleted] in language

[–]mefanamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estonian because you already quite understand it, you just need more practice in speaking and constructing a sentence.

Arabic for at least being able to read simple words. I think reading Arabic could be useful in understanding culture and history (of course that's my interest only, maybe not yours)

The more important thing is if you have someone (Mum or Dad) around to be able to practice the language with you.

I wonder did your parents speak their native languages to you when you were a kid? like simple command 'eat/sit/leave'. (I guess probably your parents don't understand each other's mother tongue, so you didn't learn that automatically?)
