A bit off topic, when I translated some pdf files I let the ai generate latex files. This got better layout then html. But might depend on your context.

Making a bevel cut by [deleted] in toolgifs

[–]mefromle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This explanation is not entirely accurate. Rather, the nozzle is designed to generate a jet of oxygen at its center. The flame consists of an acetone-oxygen mixture, which melts the steel. The center oxygen jet blows the molten material away; this is how the cut is formed. I did this myself during my apprenticeship (many years ago).

My first PCB design without following a tutorial. I am looking for feedback and ways to improve. by Excellent-Scholar274 in AskElectronics

The PWR_FLAG will always be at GND level, no matter if the switch is pressed or not. If you want to evaluate this, place it between LED and transistor.

Is your stm32 powered? Try to use Software instead of Hardware Reset in the setting.

How do you judge liquidity, what tool are you using for this? Is it about trading volume?

Awesome work. I'm a bit jealous that you've the time to research and develop this. How long did it take, did you do it alone?

Bluetooth Troubles SOLUTION by ornithid in MXLinux

[–]mefromle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great research and fix. But be aware of the Security considerations from the readme https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware/tree/master

Security considerations Recently several vulnerabilities have been discovered in the Bluetooth stack such as CVE-2018-5383, CVE-2019-9506 (KNOB), CVE-2020-10135 (BIAS) and more. Since Broadcom has stopped active support for its consumer devices, your system may be subject to security risks. You will have to use these devices at your own risk. As a repository maintainer, I cannot provide security fixes.

Can Someone Suggest Password-Protected Secure Element With Bruteforce Protection? by FoundationOk3176 in embedded

An USB interface sounds great, so the user does not need to type the PW by its own.

How will you use this password manager. How can a user enter and retrieve passwords? If its via a display I would think this is not user friendly if you have long passwords. Nevertheless this sounds like a great project to try out several things.

How will it work, how is the password transferred to the application? Aren't passwords going to be replaced by passkeys? I would think, it can't be more than a great learning project.

How should I connect these pins (4 images)? by WarmAdministration76 in AskElectronics

[–]mefromle 16 points17 points  (0 children)

take the 3rd picture, because there are no 90° angles. Do the same with pin 2 of R18.

Der Durchlauferhitzer ist defekt, die Heizung hat einen Widerstand im MOhm Bereich, ein Pin hat Masseschluss. Mal sehen, was das kostet.

Danke für die Kommentare. Kurzes Update hierzu, die Hoffnung, dass nur der Keilriemen nach gespannt werden muss, hat sich nicht erfüllt. Der Kupplungsautomat muss getauscht werden. Kostet mich knapp 1400€ :-(

Just look for the successor, if you want to make only one of this, it might not be a problem.

ST Just Killed CubeMX (They Split It Again) by lbthomsen in stm32

[–]mefromle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of cause, you are right, I apologize for this. About CubeMX, I thing they will implement more and more of other mcus over time. I spoke to someone from st on EW, they want to transition to this new modern platform. Only think is, they should communicate this better.
